Does it mean that if the applicant goes through PR application, his employer won't have to pay the compliance fee of C$230 for an employee ID card?
Frankrobbn1:

Once you've successfully secured a job offer it's the responsibility of the employer to decide either of two (PR and WP) for the applicant. Assuming the employer needs the applicant urgently in their organization, then they might opt for work permit. As I said earlier, my employer disapprove recruiting Nigerian applicants via work permit route because it takes longer to be finalized and most cases end up in a refusal. So, the decision is dependent upon your employer. Bear in mind for you to be eligible for a work permit, your employer must pay a compliance of 230$CAD for an employee ID which you will be required to fill this number in your work permit application form.

Your employer will give you a contract, ensure you read it thoroughly and understand most of the clauses there, if the contract states 1 year then after one year you can renew or look for job else where. But it’s advisable to be in that province until you get your citizenship.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes designated employers in the Atlantic province must show proof at the time of applying for a provincial endorsement that the company has made effort in recruiting a permanent residence/canadian citizen (locally)within the province to fill up the shortage of labour. With that said, employer must submit proof of newspapers, and magazines where they advertised the job title which made it eligible for the company to recruit a foreign employee.

How old are you? because with your master EE should be looking good; that is if your age is favorable. But for AIPP evaluate the degree you feel you have more work experience or all. Some employers don’t want some people with masters if they require bsc, it makes one look over qualified. If you have time and money evaluate all your degree to be on a safe side. just a suggestion

I am 38yrs.
I have the time and money!
My problem with EE is the test of English language.
Please what do you advise?
"Been on the safe side" ?
And if I decide to evaluate my degree, is it going to be my HND or my MIT?

Thank you for the robust response on how to secure a job via AIPP. We will meet at the top.
Frankrobbn1:

Thanks for the best wishes. It took me solid 4 months of persistence reading and exploring of different companies websites using the approved list of designated employers under the AIPP stream. At a time, I got discouraged as some of the companies I contacted said they weren't aware of the immigration program called - AIPP.... This kept me wondering how will they not know about the Atlantic program. Meanwhile their names were among the designated employers on the list to hire foreign employees. I knew what I wanted so I relentlessly kept on pushing without hesitation. I sought advices from some of the Indians guys on the WhatsApp group I belonged to then, they gave me tips on how to contact employers in the Altantic region and shared me some of their cover letters which all attempts proved abortive as all the employers I contacted were looking for employee with work permit within Canada. cry During my quest, I decided to build up my LinkedIn account and fortunately I got to see one of the approved companies under AIPP and their advertisement for Vacancy for over two months. shocked I said to myself let me just try this one and see if things turns out fine for me.... More like a trial!. I didn't even invest so much hope that I'll secure the job. After all, I have been getting a rejection response/mail from them all this while, therefore it's no longer a new thing to me. I braced up and contacted the company via their LinkedIn page as well as messaged them about my interest in working for the company and filling up their labour shortage. Fortunately, the company replied my message and requested that I should mail them a copy my resume and a cover letter which will detail about my vast working experience in the field and why I am fit for the job/position in their company and the contributions I'll bring to the team that will yield high productivity for the company etc...

The company reviewed my documents and sent me a mail regarding an interview.

My interview was conducted via Skype on the 21st of December, 2018. The manager of the company asked me questions about my experience and how long I have worked in that field and what is my current employment in my country of residence. Do I have my IELTS and ECA ready? Of which I sincerely told him that I don't have any yet but will get it done as soon as I have successfully secured the job offer. The manager was a jovial and very nice person. I must say he is very understandable and he said "That's okay, but you must have it so we can file for your Permanent Residence Application".... I replied with a calm voice "Sure I will".

At the end of the interview, the manager said "Congratulations" with a smile on his face that I'm now a member/employee of the organization, that i should expect further correspondence from them which entitles a signed job contract and supporting documentation regarding my employment via email. That I should endeavor to sign those forms and send it back to them ASAP, so they could begin my application for settlement plan, after which they will proceed with my provincial Endorsement and subsequently my Permanent Residence application to Canada. shocked shocked This was one of the happiest day of my life meanwhile my PR will be the best of all. grin..... The waiting is not an easy one but I believe everything will work out in due time and I'll receive a PPR in few months to come grin

I hope this helps. My advice is you keep on pushing and never relent. Someday you will find your dream employer and they will accept your application with open arms.

I wish you all the very best.

Well with your age points will definitely drop, except your spouse is younger and have a master or two or more degree.

But you know for AIPP you will write IELTS but clb4?

Please assist me with the list of what to do to fulfill this.
The money is cheap compared to the other rout, and as such I am interested.

First of all you will need to find a job and then ask the employer if they are willing to support your PR application through the AIPP or not. Because they will have to do lot of paperwork and disclose some business documents to the government. Small business might not want to do it.

Second, if they are willing to do it then the employer will need to apply to be a designated employer ( that's if the employer is not designated yet). There are forms and required documents that have to be filled by employer and submitted to the provincial gov't. If approved, the next step is getting a settlement assesment from an Atlantic immigration officer at the multiculturalism office and filling endorsement application forms. The immigration will refer you to go to a place/portal where you will schedule for an interview with an intake counselor Officer. At the time of the interview, the officer will assess/ask what you need to settle down in the province, for example an accommodation, or plan to enrol for an english course, or air port pick up etc. All these services are totally free. The result of the assessment will need to be signed and submitted along with the endorsement application forms. If approved by provincial govt, the provincial govt will give you endorsement certificate which is valid for 6 months. This endorsement certificate has to be submitted along with your PR application to the Federal level (IRCC). After you have successfully received your endorsement certificate, you are on your own (OYO). cool I mean, you don't need your employer to do paperwork for you anymore. This part is employee's part and your responsibility to package an airtight Application following the instructions on the Document Checklist!..... AIPP Permanent Residency Application takes 6 months or less in most cases and processed at ACCRA IMMIGRATION OFFICE.

Hope it helps smiley

Yes boss! Your employer wouldn't have to pay for the compliance fee of $230 if you're going for direct PR. All your employer needs is to sign, fill and date the OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT TO A FOREIGN NATIONAL 5650E FORM as well as the applicant's signature so as to be able to apply for PR. Without this form, you can't be eligible to apply for a PR under the AIPP stream. The compliance fee is refundable only on the account that the applicant Application for Work Permit was rejected.

As a follow up to your response I'll like to know if as a spouse of a principal applicant I need to evaluate my credentials. Thanks
Frankrobbn1:

Assuming your spouse eventually was the lucky one to secure a job offer under the AIPP program from a designated employer he/she will be the Principal Applicant. The accompanying spouse doesnt need to write an IELTS and ECA. With that being said, If your spouse PR Application turns out successful, you automatically become a PR without stress . Please be well informed that AIPP is quite different from Express Entry where both parties (husband and wife) needs to sit and crack their brains for IELTS 8777 and attain at least a master's degree before being considered for an ITA.

No you don't need to evaluate your credentials. As it's not a requirement for AIPP program. I know of an applicant who applied together with her spouse for PR under AIPP. She was the principal Applicant and her spouse didn't include any evaluated credentials.

The seller refused to give full access to the database - we can only view hence restiction. I don't blame them, it is business as usual.

However, I have a work around it but I will need collaboration of volunteers (with Engineering or Programming background) to create our of database of hiring companies in the AIPP provinces and later to be updated with RNIP in fall.

I have good knowledge of VBA and I believe it's a best fit.

Thanks very much @fOFT, I will surely do as you've advised. I really appreciate your kind gesture and best wishes.

Breakdown of the cost of AIPP PROGRAM -

ECA - N110,000
IELTS - N75,000
PR APPLICATION $550 AND RPRF $490 (Right of Permanent Residence fee) - $1040 which is equivalent to = N292,240
BIOMETRICS - $85 which is equivalent to N23,885
MEDICALS @IOM - N41,500

Total = N542,625

It's now a requirement for all provinces in the Altantic that Applicants must submit ECA and IELTS as at the time of Application for a provincial endorsement. This rule was recently effected. It was not in place when I started my process. However, during the processing of my endorsement the immigration officer requested for proof of my highest level of education and a copy of my resume.

Permanent Residence is a visa/status granted to a foreigner who is not a Canadian citizen and bestowed the right to live and work in Canada without any time limit on their stay. Whereas, work permit is a temporary resident visa that allows you to work for a specific period of time for an employer. The work permit was originally created for companies/employers that are anxiously/urgently seeking for a foreign employee to come over to Canada and fill up the labour shortage in their organization and subsequently apply for their PR within Canada.

The company complained that they have had issues with Nigerian applicants applying for Work permit to Canada. They further explained to me that applicants from Nigeria are been invited for an interview at the canadian consulate (embassy) at Lagos. During the interview, the visa offficer at the embassy will begin to run a background check on the applicants work experience letter (reference letters) as well as start contacting/calling each and every of the referees on the applicant's resume, the employer in Nigeria, and also the applicant's family members in order to ascertain that the applicants really had the job experience in the corresponding NOC stated on the job offer from the employer in Canada. Furthermore, they complained that Work permit application takes forever like 8-12 months before a response is communicated to the applicant, which all end up as a REFUSAL. So he advised that Permanent Residence is the best option for Nigerian applicants seeking to migrate through the AIPP program and the PR process takes at least 6 months or less in most cases.

I hope this helps.
