I am quoting you for the second time. You have been giving contradictory information on this thread. Well, it's fine seeing that that has been pervading this whole thread. Anyways, the only thing i share a different opinion is as to your relative estimation on merit fro this recruitment which has sounded so authoritative thus far. As though you are part of the Board or Top management. However, if your postulate on merit is based on the demeanor or integrity of the GMD/GGM, HR...or even the president, then you may be wrong. Let me address that shortly. You see, NNPC has been sort of the 'holy grail' for politicians, always has, always will. Lobbying has always been part of the recruitment and is part of this current one, whether you believe it or not. Even though i can lay credence on this via a source, i will rather discuss this logically. The delay in this process is evident now at the climax of this recruitment, yes? There could be 2 possibilities for this, 3 actually but the third will fizzle out once i explain it to you:

1. The recruitment conducted thus far prior to the change of GMD had been flawed, hence the new GMD has reservations about the whole process and is currently reviewing the list and evening toeing the line of cancellation. However, according to you this claim cannot be supported as the recruitment so far has been based on merit, But then again you believe the rectitudinous nature of the new GMD, so this completely rules out this possibility.

2.The recruitment conducted thus far has been based on merit and the new GMD is trying to tweak things to favor his interests. This could also be true but according to you once again the uprightness of the new GMD negates this claim.

3.The third possibility would be that the list has been available but there has been extreme pressures from so may influential persons that has stalled the process. This is completely ruled out on the basis that, according to you, both the minister of petroleum and new GMD are of high moral standards and seeing that the minister of petroleum is the commander in chief, no other requested favors supersedes that of the president so this list would have long been released.

Having debunked possibilities that could arise based on you assertion of a 95% merit, let me now tell you what i think s going on, at least from posterity. I have heard some things though, but i say this based on speculation. The reason i think this delay prevails is that things are not the way it seems. The recruitment itself has defied all timelines in comparison with the past that it is almost as though something sinister has been outlined from the outset. i believe the current list does not favor the new set of management(GMD) hence the reason for tweaking the list or in a worst case scenario, outright cancellation. Cancellation is very much a possibility in a bureaucratic setting like NNPC, make no mistake about that. Nepotism is very rife in Federal Parastatals and Government ministries/agencies and NNPC is no different this is what i believe is the reason for the delay

In summary madam/sir, stop making assertions on a certain percentage of merit when you cannot even explain in lucid terms the reason for the current delay.

I am really not an expert in analysing issues like this but after careful reading, all I can say is that I really have nothing to say to you
