Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Gbanj11: 8:36am On Aug 28, 2019 |
A quick question for the house, after booking the appointment on TLS, will I get a confirmation of the appointment date/time or something? The TLS account is simply saying “Appointment date and time not set” even after I’ve been debited. Is this normal? |

Na wa. Kpele. They say your disposable income is about 187k and you spending 500k, almost 3 times your disposable income looks fishy. ECO feels why would you spend this amount on holiday for 12 days.. you saved for it na! hmm these people.. life4real8691: 1 Like |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 10:27pm On Aug 28, 2019 |
life4real8691:I think you should apply again. Reduce the number of days you wish to spend in the UK, that will have a significant reduction in your budget for the trip. 400k should be fine. You must not do shopping, not mandatory. That amount should take care of your flight, hostel accommodation and living expenses in the UK. 1 Like |

They refuse for any flimsy reason possible. I would definitely reapply in few months. Thank you giselle237: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by NanaOne1: 11:16pm On Aug 28, 2019 |
life4real8691: These are some of the refusal reasons I find very disappointing. How can the ECO conclude that spending three times of your salary on a one time life experience vacation amounts to no good use of that money. Purely this refusal reason does not hold in the light of any immigration law and it is purely a subjective reason the ECO gave you. ECO did not raise any flags about the transactions in your account and didn't doubt any of your document. The ECO's only concern is with his own subjective reasoning that your budget is too much when you yourself you are not complaining and its also clearly evident that you will still have money in your account after your trip and since you have a stable job, you replenish that in just some few months. If I was in your shoes, I will actually challenge this refusal reason instead of applying because with reapplying its either you are given or an opportunity for the ECO to raise other more serious issues which would be difficult to succumb. My take |

thanks to everyone on this forum for your contributions towards the success of my uk visa application. most especially @justwise i was refused 2007, i made the application through an agent back then, all information used by the agent then was fake even my international passport was not having my correct info except my name. i was so furious after the refusal seeing those errors,i had to do another passport with my real details aftewards,i applied to us twice and i was also refused, after reading alot about people's experiences and a word of encouragement from justwise i decided to give a try, i did my biometrics on 30th of july and i was sent a mail on 23rd of august to pick up my passport, i was given 6month on my virgin passport i did all the application on my own even with my mobile phone i don't have personal account except my coporate and i run all my expenses with the account, though i stated that in my cover letter. documents submitted. cac cert. property doc (survey and family receipt) nepa bill lawma bill land use demand notice tax certificate my wife had lost the marriage cert. so i only scanned the affidavit she swored for her change of name and our wedding picture.also the news paper publication for change of name. all was scanned with my phone through the edossiersolo app i downloaded. wish everyone applying a success in their application. thank you nairaland. Congratulations!!! Please, I want to ask if you were fingerprinted in 2007. 2 Likes |

life4real8691: Two clear issues reading your refusal letter.. your budget for few days trip is high and it makes little sense to spend that much in less than a week especially if you first time traveler to the UK. Second issue is..the documents you submitted did not support your source of income as you stated. The ECO was not looking at your salary but your disposable income which is significantly low after all the expenses. Refusal hurts but the more you re-read your refusal the more understand clearly why you were refused. If you go through everything and believe that the ECO was wrong then you can write letter of reconsideration explaining why you disagreed with the decision |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by life4real8691: 8:14am On Aug 29, 2019 |
[The budget was for 12 days which is approximately 2 weeks and not 1 week. The documents i submitted supported my source of income and the ECO did not raise any concerns about that. The ECO refused on the ground of spending approximately 3 times my disposable income on vacation. I had a balance of 1.9m as at the time of application and spending 500k of my hard earned money on vacation is not too much. I think the ECO refused my application on a subjective decision. justwise: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Lee310: 10:18am On Aug 29, 2019 |
life4real8691: Reapply immediately and explain to the Eco that spending that amount of money has no significant adverse on you as you have worked for your money and you want to enjoy yourself too. 500K is not bad tho but work out your finances well. Don’t leave any loopholes Good luck. |

life4real8691: The main principle about UK visitor visa is that you must not spend more than 2 month of your monthly disposal income. Reduce your visit to 7 days and use hostel accommodation. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by ekpotek: 7:35am On Aug 30, 2019 |
life4real8691: Many advising you to reapply failed to caution that Nigerian are classified as coming from migrant high risk country. The ECO is simply saying that he expect you to be financial prudent given your disposable income level. A reapplication will not help matter. Reducing the number of days does not matter. What matters is that the ECO view this trip has highly unnecessary and not supported by your current financial ties. Note your current financial ties is not your closing bank balance. The only way out is for the applicant to declare other income valuables. Nobody goes on a vacation to the UK on a budget of N500K unless the person is a frequent traveller and not view as an immigration risk to the UK. My take. 2 Likes |
