We can't conclude on the battery usage yet until phones that uses the chipset are launched. Besides the Xiaomi Note 8 will launch with the MTK Helio G90T and the Note 8 pro will launch with the Snapdragon 730G so there'll be room for a better comparison.
Nah bro
Redmi note 8 with sd 665
8 pro with the mtk g90T

The battery usage is pretty obvious. 730G transistors measure 8nm while G90T measures 12nm. It simply translates that the G90T will require more power and will heat up faster. Nothing else. You don't need wait for a device once you have the transistors size. The smaller, the faster and more efficient.

[s]The soon to be launched xiaomi redmi note 8 pro, was 100% on my todo list [pending the availability of funds for leisure spending], but as soon I got alerted it will be coming with an mtk chip, the desire for that device has ran low faster than Nigeria budget funds, from 100% - 21% and still going. Because when it comes to dev access, maintenance and usability, the snapdragon chip is at least 78% better than any mtk chip within its competitive range.

I know you are speaking from personal opinion and a marketing strategic point of view, but if you will choose an mtk chip powered device over a snapdragon device with eyes open, then you are technologically disoriented.

Mtk is still coming, I do respect their pace and grinding towards the top, but while typing this, mtk powered devices are close to crapnophone[/s]

lol, and you are probably blinded by not so efficient but cheap mediatek. If you ever used an sd chip you will never ever want to do with anything called mediatek again. I know so cos av used both

There are some things you don't prolong discussion on. I know this post is aiming to promote the oppo brand, and to array their motivation behind using an mtk chipset to be anything other than to make a higher percent gain by choosing an mtk chip, instead of making profit by using the snapdragon chipset.
Which am willingly going to sabotage, because I hate what I don't like, and don't like cheats, especially when there are so many already in Nigeria, we can't have more.

To you all claiming the brilliance of oppo because they use mtk inferior chips, tell me. Which oppo flagships uses an mtk chipset? Other than these overpriced midrange junks they are trying to shove down into the already dilapidated crapnophone mobileeco of Nigeria.

Even xiaomi will feel the impact on sales of the note 8 pro due to their choice of chipset.
You don't pick "okay" over "great" and expect to sweet talk people to making the same unwise and wasteful choice.

I don't know why people don't rate Mediatek chipsets sha. I guess it's because it's cheaper than the Snapdragon but the new Xiaomi note 8 is launching with the Mediatek G90T chipset and it has been proven to be a very good chipset. It even beats the Snapdragon 730 chipset on Antutu Benchmark so i don't know why people keep hating on Mediatek.
that bench score comparison is flawed, Mtk g90t was tested on the latest antutu benchmark V8 unlike the score on SD 730 that was gotten from the old V7. U dont expect the scores from both Antutu versions to tally with the actual chipset performance,do u? Well, only time will tell when hand in hand review is done, for now its all marketing gimmicks.

since 2012 I that I bought my first Android phone the HTC g2 I fell in love with snapdragon chips and their adreno gpu till date.mtk and Mali GPU are crap.tecno and the likes flooded 9ja with their substandard phones with crappy mtk
their fans were happy not knowing what they were missing, am glad their eyes are beginning to open.

I agree, I totally agree, this happens to be a big misconception among people that they believe what's expensive would be better but it's not the thing. Processors like MediaTek are doing really great and they tend to bring all the possible configurations in the budget phones as well. So that it is possible for everyone to experience better support.

Snapdragon is no way better than Mtk
It all depends on the version of the processor we are looking at.

Too far.
A snapdragon midrange chip, is 15% better than a highend mediatek chipset.
There is a big difference between "manageable" and 'awesome".
How this posters are trying to make manageable better than awesome with their words amazes me.
Atleast the only marketing strategy transission holdings marketers had before the arrival of xiaomi were "failed CARLCAN' T" and "parts being available"... This oppo people above, I don't see their point.

You gotta appreciate the fact that Mediatek has improved a lot. Mediatek has come a long way after MTK chipsets. New Helio series is bang for bucks. The performance is spot on and the latest chipset are power-efficient

I got your point but remember SD730 is a premium chipset. In the same place, MediaTek helio g90T is a budget centric chipset. despite that it has Helio G90T performs better than SD730
