ValCon888:The reason why western countries come hard on fraudstars is because the entire fabric/system of their respective countries is based on honesty. There is no perfect system. These systems are put in place to make life easy for everyone and to advance their economies. When fraudstars try to abuse the system, they come hard on them before it becomes an infestation like it is in Nigeria and other shytehole countries. There are countless people working in positions of authorities in Banks and other financial instituitions with access to customers information. They can easily commit fraud with these information, but they choose not to. They know there are harsh consequences for illegality. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Stillthebest:Awesome contribution, bro! You've said it all, "politicians are the greatest thieves, and their greed is what has pushed a lot of people into crime!" Some months ago, I marveled when a friend, whom I know to be very decent, confided in me that he was in need of someone to teach him "yahoo yahoo." The fellow in question is very hardworking yet he could barely feed himself or his family. This is the experience of countless youths across the country, and we expect crime rate to drop? "Impossicant! Some of us know what we would have turned out to be, but for strong parental guidance coupled with prayers. But not everyone has this privilege, and most would veer off into crime at the slightest provocation. What these small small boys steal is peanuts compared to what our politicians have amassed for themselves and their generation unborn. I dare say that politicians are the bane of this country! I still look forward to the day God will give us a man that will not hesitate to slaughter them all, and spill their accursed blood on the streets so that this nation can be free. But will that day come? I know not And even if it does, will it be in this century? Only God knows 3 Likes |

Channels Television LIVE TV FBI Bust: EFCC Gathering Data On Indicted Nigerians In US – Magu Channels Television The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has disclosed that the agency is collating comprehensive data on the Nigerians indicted in the recently busted money laundering offences in the United States. 80 suspects, most of whom were Nigerians, were allegedly involved in the crimes investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, in the U.S. Magu who spoke through the Zonal Head of the Ibadan zonal office, Friday Ebelo, during a press conference held at the Commission’s Ibadan office, said the massive data collection was part of the collaborative activities between the EFCC and FBI to ensure that criminal elements are exposed and made to pay for their crimes. Journalists in attendance at the event were held spellbound when Ebelo took them through the intricate connections between the local Yahoo Boys and their offshore criminal collaborators. READ ALSO: N1.7bn Fraud: ICPC Asks Court To Remand Head Of Disability Cooperative In Prison According to him, the essence of the data mining exercise was to establish any form of relationship the indicted individuals may have with the Nigeria-based crime suspects, and how this could help in furthering the fight against economic and financial crimes in the country. He said some of the information earlier collected has led to the arrest of many internet fraudsters, adding that one of the kingpins was nabbed during a recent raid in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The kingpin Ajayi Gbenga Festus, he added, was found to be deeply involved in many internet-related frauds from which he had benefited up to N75 million in the last eight months. “We were able to establish a number of illicit transactions through his Nigerian bank account amounting to over N223 million. Ajayi serves as a conduit pipe through which proceeds of crime reach members of the syndicate,” he stated. Ebelo also disclosed that in the course of the year, the zone has arrested 263 suspects for cybercrimes among whom 111 were convicted. Apart from the landed properties, vehicles, laptops and other valuables forfeited on the order of a court, huge sums of money in local and foreign currencies traced to internet fraud were also recovered. |

GOOD RIDDANCE! I was watching that old "Oga Titus" video last night, and when Don Jazzy pronounced "I hereby sentence you to 100 years" for some reason this Invictus Obi dude crossed my mind. Anyway, if convicted, it's unlikely he'll actually serve 30 years in jail (even if he got the max), because the sentences are likely to run concurrently, which would mean no more than 20 years of actual jail time, and with good behavior and all might be considerably shorter. But he'll still serve some SERIOUS time. > |
