First, we don't use "cleric" in Islam. Cleric is Christian and Catholic invented term.

Locally in Yorubaland, devout Muslim male is called Alfa. Advanced learned Muslim male is called sheikh or scholar of Islam.

Now these guys you seen dancing are just ordinary guys like everyone else. If they had worn suits or shirts and pants no one would complain. It is because of "respected religious regalia" they wore was the reason for the criticisms. Nothing wrong with dancing. It is part of human instincts but religious man must comport himself about the kind of dance he dances in public. Therefore, dancing to this kind of foolish song is absurd while wearing religious regalia.

Take a look at Arabs, their culture of dressing is abaya/Jilbab that many muslims and nonmuslims consider "religious dress". Yet Arabs wear this everyday and do about anything and everything with it on a daily basis including singing and dancing, herding and sporting etc. So the kind of dance these guys danced to is what is condemnable. It is not a dance that befits Alfa especially in public. Therefore they lack adhab.
