Why I love AOK... They wouldn't charge you till you have your resident permit and they will still give you the health insurance certificate
Sadly above 30 and a student you go for private but when you compare the €33.10 to €94 somehow I dont mind. Since I no dey sick like that or need a doc YET.

Your name, passport number, visa receipt number (the six digit number at the right hand side of the receipt), date of interview. Send it to the email on your visa receipt ie info@lago.diplo.de

NB: They mostly don't acknowledge receipt of the confirmation, so don't stress yourself when you don't see any.

The subject of the email should have your visa receipt number and purpose of mail, engraved in it.

Has anyone used or considered using Egypt Air?

I see everyone concentrating on just Turkish Air or is there a reason for this?

bro , why don't you try Ethiopian airlines. I compared the price -quality on skyscanner.com and its cheap for the quality of service.
they use the new airbus , and it takes 9 hours only with one stop .
Egypt air is way cheaper but takes longer time .
PS: I'm from Addis Ababa so I might be biased .

#copied from BIG on facebook## I am describing about various ways of checking the status of our visa application here. This is a mixture of what I understood from my experience and compiled from several post of BiG Group
First you can check the status of visa, by contacting the VFS by either chat/mail quoting your reference ID. This is preliminary to check whether documents has reached the respective Consulates if you take the interview at VFS. This step is only confined to know that your visa documents has reached the Embassy. The VFS executives cannot answer much than this . 1) By the contact form in the respective consulate website, you can get to know the status of your visa application. But unfortunately, the people are not responsive all the time. 2) You can draft an email to "zzVISABVA@bva.bund.de" with the subject line: status of student visa. This approach will give you instantaneous reply. You must send the following information in the mail including surname, firstname, Passport number, Date of birth, Date of visa interview, Place of interview. I guess all these information are crucial and missing of information will result in requisition mail of those detail from them. So, you will get reply that your visa application has been recorded in #oursystem and for further information contact the competing #Ausländerbehörde office where you expect to head. 3) Finally, If you get delayed after a very long time , you can contact the #Ausländerbehörde office by email. You can google for the respective email id. For example : Ausländerbehörde Munich, Ausländerbehörde Frankfurt. Surely, can you find out an email id and you get write them.

Since you already above 30 you dont need the exemption . Just your contract from them is all you need.

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT – 27/08/2019 @ LAGOS

Got to the consulate by 6am and was asked to return by 6:30am. On return, I found a queue of people. I was the 5th student on the queue but because I had my documents properly arranged like I had seen on this forum some weeks back, I ended up being the first to be interviewed.
I was interviewed in Room 4 by an easy-going young man, he looked Nigerian. Here were the questions he asked me

QUESTIONS:

Are you married?
Do you have kids?
What is the name of the school your got admitted to?
What was your BSc course?
What is the MSc course you got admitted to?

He then asked me to pick up the phone for the interview proper:

Have you learnt German?
What was your BSc thesis?
Why this course?
What is your future career goal?
Why Germany?
Why not Nigeria?
Why not other English-speaking countries?
What can you tell me about Germany, Geographically, Politically, Economically, Sports, Culture etc?
What can you tell me about the State your School is located?

It felt more like a conversation than an official interview

Interview fee on the day was N30,000, so he refunded me N500

He was impressed that I had updated my blocked account to the new financial requirement
He was also happy I already had my travel insurance (all thanks to Fintiba plus)

He expressed concern that there was an extra name on my passport that was not on my birth certificate, but he told me not to bother about it, that it shouldn’t affect me. But advised me to back it up with my baptismal card any other time I go for something official (It’s my confirmation name)

When he asked Why Germany, one of my reasons was Willingness to learn a foreign language. He said it wasn’t a good reply. That I had all the time to learn the language in Nigeria and that I’d be too busy in Germany to learn it.

When he asked if I had learnt German, he didn’t like me beating around the bush about attending half an A1 level class and taking online classes at Germanpop101.com. He wanted a definitive answer, so I went with No.

My letter of motivation was handwritten and it wasn’t an issue on the day.

He said I should expect to hear from them before September runs out. (My enrollment deadline is 10th Oct)

He was a very chilled lad and everything felt like talking with a pal, not a tense interview. I could hear the woman in the other room firing her candidates with all sorts of questions.

I apologise for not posting this earlier, been preoccupied. I’ve always been on this forum quietly learning and it helped me a lot in making my interview swift and easy going. So, I had to do this to perhaps help a few other.

Waiting patiently for my AM
Good luck everyone
God bless.

Thank you elders
congrats you have finally funded. Was it through access
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by johnaolaniran: 9:51am On Aug 30, 2019
It's better you fund 7000 euros on the first day and pay in the rest on the second day. That 9000 euro when converted to dollars is around 10000 dollars exact. If there is a slight change in exchange rate on the day you are paying in and it exceeds 10000 dollars after conversion it will still be flagged. It's better to play if safe than to be delayed at this critical time. (Based on experience)

Vic13:
thanks bro, that means I need fund twice so that my account won’t be flagged and it won’t delay me
