I swear I’ll miss Froddster though. Frodd tried. If not for him Esther would have long disappeared straight after Nelson’s exit. He breathed life into a piece of furniture and brought out the caring side of her. Who knew she could become a loyal girlfriend? I didn’t see that coming. It shocked me to see the female who was once all over Nelson finally respond to “babe” calls from Frodd.

My second favourite (Tacha) doesn’t like her attitude so I’ll use that to console myself during her inevitable absence. I never pictured her amongst the top 5 but at the same time don’t want to see her go so soon. I’m enjoying the dynamics of Froddster for now. Kai, we’ll get stuck with Eliane who are boring the life of me. If Diane is happy then I can’t complain. It seems Omashola wants to start something with Khafi but male loyalty to Gedoni will stop him eventually.

I’m already missing the two times Esther broke into tears with Frodd readily consoling her. I didn’t know he was good at that and it’s obvious this is his third time or more being in a friend zone/hard-to-get/situation ship. The dreaded pairing, relationship, situationship or whatever you choose to call it. Those with strong-charactered favourites hate them because it changes their behaviour significantly. I don’t know whether to like it but nine times out of ten it advances a contestant’s chance of going far. It is however a real life survival strategy after all.

Just like in real life there is the friend zone, a healthy relationship, one-sided relationships, a full on rejection and far away admiration. Unfortunately the final option is non existent due to housemates being in each other’s faces 24/7. It means any romantic emotions you harbour for a housemate always get acted upon, whether you do it head-on, housemates spread the gossip to the other party or Big Brother runs you street via tasks.

There are numerous benefits which come from pairing which trump a single-man game. I will list them:

Resources: In the house food and alcohol are valued because compared to the real world edibles are rationed. Being in a pair you can easily guarantee double portions of anything your partner doesn’t fancy. Your partner also gains the same. Either of you can stash alcohol for later enjoyment away from prying eyes.

Sex, Intimacy and Emotional Support: Big Brother is a mentally tough contest. Every task is created to shake your sense of self worth. Humans love being loved and the only way to receive true (or fake) affection and support is from your other half. Rather than going into a quick outburst or swallowing any form of disrespect one can seek advice from their confidante of which they finally strategize a way to go about resolving the situation. The sex is good too and holding hands during eviction nights is a huge plus.

Ah, vocal partners are also quick to verbally support their more introverted partners in the case of an altercation. We’ve seen this play out a lot of times.

Self Development: This applies to healthy relationships and sometimes the friend zone. There is nothing to do during downtimes but study each other. Your other half is bound to find tips they feel will help you improve socially. Hey, even in my friend zone days a lot of my objects of interest told me to stand up for myself when rivals crossed my path. I had one who taught me how to time conversations and speak in a request-feedback sequence, making sure verbal romantic interest was always balanced.

Chores: The harder working partner chooses to impress their other half with carrying out chores. In the house it’s mostly cooking, cleaning, a bit of laundry and dish washing. Why suffer yourself when someone else can do them?

Vote Sharing: This is the most obvious and I wonder why it didn't come first in this list. Audiences are held to silence by orators, they tend to have the ability to evoke strong emotions in their audiences..
U wouldn't say wole soyinka and Patrick ogbahiagbon are Good orators.. but certainly a Barack Obama, a Martin Luther King Jr, an Adolf Hitler are good orators..if u watch videos of Hitler talking to his people, even without understanding German, you can sense the power.

I think it's Frodd who will turn on the waterworks. Esther will hold her tears till she enters the hotel room/meets her parents. The organisers may do a crossover segment where Frodd will hear Esther say nice things and motivating words to push him further into the competition. The psychologists on board know the man's defect hence why Big Brother speaks to him like a brother figure than an authority.
