holart92: This is sad. The agent can only refute this claim by sending the bank SOA ticket number and password to CIC for further verification. If he can't do that, it's a life ban man. Life! |

abelorode: Switching from a Social Science background to IT can be dicey... most schools would not turn a blind eye. Say, he did any of the Engineering programmes that is not tech related, sure he can get admitted to an MSc programme with relevant qualifications though priority would be given to those with prior relevant background. It depends on how you package your application anyway and having a proof to backup your claim like certifications will go a long way during your consideration. |

Most act oblivious of the situation and shift the blame to agent, if u ain't below 18,u should atleast learn to take responsibility for ur actions and inaction, was I to be in such situation, I did be quicker to beat myself up how come the criminal act eluded my sense of reasoning than coming out to wail and blame an agent but what do I know?? It takes some experience and wisdom to be mature and take responsibilities for one's action, such victims won't gt pity from me provided they ain't children and still doing the blame game without remorse , they should face the consequences either way, peace! abelorode: 3 Likes |

Whether i pity them or not, they will still face their ban, who my pity help? That's what I meant.. Clarifying for Tigers in the house... I'm yt to see anyone that has owned up it was his slip because i no for an agent to manipulate a bank statement, there MUST be financial insufficiency lurking in the corner and but our normal naija shortcut won't let us be... We want change but the change must start from each of us, always do the right thing and corruption will disappear and we won't need to collect rejection up and down from any country, we will stay and love our country because those that developed theirs are also created by the same God....way out of line but I had to drop this because this fraudulent incidents should end already, it's so stale, God help us all. 3 Likes |

jessyeve: It's sad really. The ban alone cant deter incidents like this. Some Nigerians would still resort to sharp-sharp alternative. God help us! |

Hi Frankrobbn1, and anyone who can help I am applying for study permit I came across some issues. 1. There is a place on the imm1294 form for tuition fees. The issue is University of Guelph dont give you tuition fees yet till after you register your courses. However they give you an estimate on the offer of admission, the tuition fee of previous semesters which is more detailed with break down of accommodation and the rest.(for one semester). Should I use that as the tuition fee? What do you think? 2. Same thing with expected period of completion, on the offer they just stated it's a 6 semester course there was no specific date for completion. Should I just calculate the date? Like since it is starting in January and it is 2 years then it will probably end in January 2022? 3. Regarding the tuition fee, the state scholarship is the one covering how do imput the amount set aside for tuition if i am not the one paying? P.s I sent you an email you did not respond |

makano:okay.. I graduated with a 2'2 in physics and I'm working in an hotel currently..can I apply for a course in hotel management.. what chances do I have??do I need PGD |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by waynee2baba: 1:27am On Aug 30, 2019 |
Seunnzy: Admission won't be an issue for PGD. Selkirk College offers a PGD in Hospitality Management. You'd get admitted provided you have a 2-year diploma or BS.c degree in any field... the main issue would be your Visa Application. You'd have to come up with a really convincing SOP stating why you wana switch from Physics to the aforementioned. Don't be scared o, it's very doable but up to you really. |

jessyeve:You are on point. No applicant will come up here and claim responsibility, rather they will shift the blame on the agent who to the best of my knowledge isn't on this thread to defend himself. Even if they try to claim they weren't aware, what do they expect from an agent when they pay him around 500k or more but have no money to cover their tuition and living expenses, the said 500k is mostly for the agent to help get SOA, not just for application fee. So whoever is involved should at least man-up to their responsibility and stop shifting blame. My only concern here is the bad name they keep giving to Nigeria and also making things even more difficult (than it already is) for genuine applicants applying from Nigeria 2 Likes |

Hello House, I just got a refused email of my student visa application from the Canadian embassy in Nairobi yesterday. they cited three (3) reasons for the refusal: 1- My tire with Nigeria and Canada 2- My personal financial status and investment in Nigeria 3- My purpose of visit I got admission for Masters in Information Network and Computer security at New York Institute of Technology- Vancouver. My intake is in January 2020. please gurus in the house, I have read testimonies of how you guys helped many to have success stories. Please i need the house to help me make a second application |

niskill: Interesting. When I applied last year via an agent, they charged me 25k naira for registration+ 100Cad for application. Good news is, when you get your visa and resume your program, your application fee (100 Cad) will be returned to your school account.. I think Fanshawe mandating all applicants from Nigeria to use agents for admissions is sad as these agents may be overcharging applicants. It is well. |

holart92: You are wasting your time not taking steps. You have 15 days to respond to your issue. (1) Have you even confirmed if the agent actually used fake statements? That CIC suspects an account is fake does not actually mean it is fake, reason they gave you 15 days to respond. Tell the agent to tell you the truth so you can know steps to take. Time is ticking... There could still be a way out. Even if the agent confirms the statement is fake, write a letter to CIC telling them your truth. Don't just sit down and assume it is the end, fight. Explain your truth and everything that transpired between you and the agent. You may be surprised you will not get a ban but rather a refusal. Modified Tell the agent to give you a copy of the Zenith bank statement he submitted, take it to zenith bank and confirm directly from the bank if it is fake or not. Don't just take the agents word for it. 2 Likes |
