It is not a black mamba. But a West African common house snake. Lamprophis fuliginosus! Very common in PortHarcourt.

That a snake is black doesn't make it a black mamba.
Infact black mambas ain't black.

We don't have black mamba in Nigeria . Please verify for claim before you post next time. People outside Nigeria are on this forum.

I'm not a snake expert but a good expert should tell what specie this is, I've read somewhere that black mamba is not found in Nigeria but I really don't know the location of the OP.

It is not in anyway dangerous. A nocturnal snake, climbs walls as well and is called the West African common house snake: Lamprophis fuliginosus.

Yes!! It is mostly found around human homes where it feeds on rats and lizards that are attracted to our food.

Some idiots deserves Phd. in misinformation that is not a Black Mamba. Rather an harmless house snake. It feeds on rodents, Wall Gecko and grasshoppers. i have had about 6-7 encounter with them.
