It is not a black mamba. But a West African common house snake. Lamprophis fuliginosus! Very common in PortHarcourt.

I'm not a snake expert but a good expert should tell what specie this is, I've read somewhere that black mamba is not found in Nigeria but I really don't know the location of the OP.

It is not in anyway dangerous. A nocturnal snake, climbs walls as well and is called the West African common house snake: Lamprophis fuliginosus.

Some idiots deserves Phd. in misinformation that is not a Black Mamba. Rather an harmless house snake. It feeds on rodents, Wall Gecko and grasshoppers. i have had about 6-7 encounter with them.


Yes, there can climb, depending on how rough the surface of your walls is. Be Informed
