We lost by 5pts (82-77) especially after that call against Josh Okogie. Really harsh. But we fought well against a super experienced Russian side.

Jordan Nwora is a real baller but he is not so good on defence.
Okogie was bae today with all those 3pt hits from way downtown in onitsha. The Timeberwolves man was a Joy to watch today but that last minute call on him sealed our fate.

Ike Iroegbu is bae. Great handles and a fine team asset. And Nnamdi Vincent na correct baller too. Same goes to the Portland man, Aminu. Just imagine if we had a Giannis on this team!!!! Heavens!!!

Kudos to the team. They earn my respect in a much bigger way than they earned during their African run. Good way to kick off a saturday as I turn attention to our legion of Naija players across Europe in the European leagues.

So sad we lost 82 : 77
The boys fought gallantly. Super proud of the performance despite the final result. I pray we win our next match

Next game is against Argentina... to be honest it will be tough to beat them... they are one of the best in the world.

I am going to be frank, so here we go...

This team is not going far. Too many turnovers and a huge lack in discipline. I have never watched a Nigerian basketball game before but I didn’t know that the team would be this bad. What even makes this more disappointing is that Russia played so poorly as well. Poor game management all around and a huge lack of focus.

Russia is a shadow of their dominant USSR days and I won’t expect them to go far. All in all, this game showcased the gulf in talent that exists between those in the NBA and those who play in lesser leagues. As diluted as the USA’s team is, I expect them to bulldoze their way to the finals.

If we want to contest for the next round then we need to step up our passing, insanely improve our field goal shooting and stop giving stupid fouls.

You can chastise me for being pessimistic but anyone who actively watches NBA basketball would agree with me. The pundits may say that this is our best team ever, but we still have a long way to go!

this sums it all up.

They just won an invitational tournament before this World Cup, they have been treated poorly in the run up to the tournament, be thankful they even agreed to play at all and put in such a performance. If it were Super Eagles, it would have been much worse

Lol.

And who did they win exactly? They won SA 2-1 and the Semi-final on penalties. The others ended in draws.

I will prefer to comment on the team performance in a tournament than celebrating 2 wins ( one was via a penalty shootout) and 2 draws

I am still trying to understand how they got to the final to be candid. Infact, I wasn't surprised when someone mistakenly said they were walloped 4-1by Morocco. That's the kind of results you expect when Aigbogun leads a team

Yes they got to the final in the same tournament that Senegal, Ghana, Mali and Host Morocco took part in and could not get to the final.

Rather than you appreciating the fact that they supassed ur expectations and dashed ur hopes of coming here to bash the team u are busy down playing their performance.

You expected a 4-1 loss to Morocco right? But they broke your heart.

I know all this is because of the dislike for Aigbogun. And so u are wish for his team to be disgraced. You people forget that it is Nigeria those boys are representing and not Aigbogun.

Long term understudy of David Silva indeed grin ..as if we don't know Guardiola and Man city grin ..once Silva retire, na to buy replacement sharp sharp.... That was how Guardiola went to sign Gabriel Jesus when Iheanacho could have been used...
they don't even need him to retire, I'm guessing by next summer another 150mill pounds player go show

“In the second half, we created much, much more than our opponents but we didn't create the kind of chances for this kind of player.

“But of course, Kelechi is part of the squad.".. Guardiola on Kelechi.

Guardiola clearly pointed that Iheanacho was not his kind of player and the chances we created was not perfect for Nacho. So buying Gabriel Jesus was Guardiola securing his kind of player.

However, I wanted Nacho to stay briefly and gain from the tutelage of Guardiola. I believe understanding the system makes the players better.
an unknown African striker brought from academy can never be his type of player, fuq it peak Eto wasn't his type of player talk less of an unknown Iheanacho
