The colonial flag of Nigeria was adopted in 1914 following the amalgamation of Southern Nigeria and Northern Nigeria. It was first suggested by the first Governor-General of Nigeria, Sir Frederick Lugard as a symbol of the unification of Nigeria and because of the Seal of Solomon which was associated with the native Igbo Jews. The Star of David had already been in use in Nigeria during the British rule because of the Igbo Jews who were featured on coins of the British West African pound. This was confirmed in the 1917 discovery of a bronze Star of David attributed to the Igbo Jews in Aguleri.[4] The crest on the flag was also used on the flag of the Governor-General of Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share

Some northern tribes migrated from Arab nation just as Igbos are traced to Jews. Are we not seeing the same trend today whereby Fulani herdsmen are migrating down south and with time will start populating. Some Igbos migrated to Gabon, Cameroon, etc during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war in 1967, and some never came back but remained in Gabon, Cameroon, etc to become permanent citizens of those countries and are gradually populating in those countries. If tomorrow someone from some parts of Gabon or Cameroon writes a history book tracing the origin of his community to Biafra country, I am sure some doubting Thomases in Southwest will be calling him a liar. There is no big deal in Igbos being a Jewish descendants, the only reason Jews or Israelis don't want to openly accept this truth is because Nigeria is a failed, backward, poverty ridden black nation so nobody wants to associate with it.
