robinicule: Once you enrol, you will officially be a student of the university and you will receive your student account password and student card/semester ticket by post. So, I would advise you do it before the deadline passes. |

I have a friend who was rejected 3 times before she finally made it to Germany. I don't think rejections should instill fear in anybody on this thread, the problem is that we are used to seeing success stories. And I don't think it's about the VO, cause I'm sure other VOs issue rejection letters too. Someone posted how they successfully appealed their rejection about a week or two weeks ago on this thread, I'm sure that should be enough motivation for those who were rejected recently not to lose hope. The good thing about rejection is that you can always appeal the decision. I find it funny that some are already hoping not to be interviewed by the said VO. What if you get rejected by a VO other than her?. Finally, prepare well for the interview, so on the day it wouldn't matter which VO you were interviewed by .... 10 Likes 1 Share |

All these VO issues should not be something to be afraid of. On Friday 19th of July, I was interviewed by this same woman on dread, she wasn't smiling dou but like I have said before, she is cool. My documents got to the alien office on the 23rd of July and I got my AM under 4weeks. Just prepare well, and give points to her, I noticed she doesn't like stories. In all I wish us success in our endeavors 6 Likes 1 Share |

Happy new month, Fam. Some schools will be opening their application portals for Summer entry today. For those looking towards a Business degree, check out Hochschule Reutlingen. Application starts today and ends on the 15th of October. You just have to scan copies of your documents to them, while they send to Konstanz for assessment. Also, they accept EPL. Finally, Summer is here! 10 Likes 1 Share |

For those traveling this winter session, I found this somewhere and I know it would be useful: 1- Do not pay any advance for apartment: if someone has offered you an apartment and asked you to make an up front payment and send him/her money from India, say NO! Do not pay any advance for the house. Moreover as far as I know no house master ask you to pay the deposit money before you occupy the room. You can sign the contract from Nigeria but do not make any payments. Also read the contracts very carefully. 2- Have good amount of cash in hand while coming: you'll need to pay for deposit of room, visa fees, university fees up front. It may take time for your blocked account to be unblocked. So calculate and carry enough cash or have a cash card along with you. 3- Get proper clothes: know that climate in Germany in peak winters is 1-5 degrees, if you haven't previously lived in cold countries this will be really harsh weather. I've seen many new comers under estimate the cold and then suffer. 4- Carry your passport everywhere till you get your residence permit: this is important given the refugee crisis going on may be you'll be stopped and asked randomly any time. The best bet is not to go to any other country till you get your residence permit. I have heard rare cases of police taking students to station for lack of documents (nothing to worry, there won't be any charge against you and they will drop you to the train/bus stop and see you off till you leave their country) 5- Deutsch is important but not mandatory: unless you have your course in German, you'll do alright not knowing German. Life might be a little difficult but ones you take up the course at university you'll slowly start learning the language. Meanwhile at times German can be a necessary and mandatory while you apply for some jobs. 6- Choose your courses carefully: take up the subjects you are confident about and do not overwhelm yourself with too many subjects. Expect Masters to take more than two years: If you are coming here for masters then keep in mind it's really challenging. Unless you are extremely smart, it'll take more than two years to complete your masters. There is nothing to be discouraged about. Most people take on an average 2.5 years to complete their Masters. Moreover university do not have tuition fees and cost of living as a student is really really low in Germany. 7- Find a part time job (HiWi): once you settle down and are two or three months through in the semester, start looking for part time jobs, one, it'll help you pay for your expenses. Two, it'll only add more value to your CV. 28 Likes 3 Shares |

odimbannamdi: Happy New month everyone. In addition to the above, Summer applicants can check out TUM. Their application portal for most of their summer courses opens today. Plus you don't need to send them your docs, simply upload unto the portal. However, you'll need to get a VPD from Uniassist first. Also TUM allows online enrollment so if you get admission and cannot get AD on time, you simply enrol and can travel anytime. May God answer all of our heart desires. 7 Likes 2 Shares |
