I don't know if I'm the only one who observed but I think Mitland-Niles plays too far away from him which usually makes his work more tedious on the flank unlike dem mane or Sallah having Robertson/Arnold playing really close to them.

Pepe needs to play in his own skin. Do what you are good at. He is good at dribbling and taking on defenders, he should stick to that rather than crossing uselessly.

Guendouzi dropped a 10/10 against Spurs in a heated Derby. No Matteo slander allowed on this thread again.

As an arsenal fan, im not delighted with the results but very impressed with the ATTITUDE. We still do not have that super quality players which we were once blessed with in abundance but the attitude in starting the game with good intensity in that first 15 to 20 mins was what some of us have always know Arsenal for. Today it was there, and i wonder why we do not see this consistently? The first goal was a combination of poor decision making and poor areial ability. Papa saw the ball in the air and i was crying out for him to hold his ground since xhaka was already competing with Harry kane for that ball. Of course Harry kane is a favorite to win that duel so it was only sensible that Papa holds his run and keep the shape of the back line in case Harry wins the header which he did and since Papa had naively committed himself there was always going to be a problem with recovery and space at the back which Spurs took advantage of. Second goal was just pure stupidity making a rash slide in the box rather than staying on your feet. All in all i like the attitude and even when we were down by 2 i enjoyed seeing them continually putting pressure on the spurs players not allowing them time on the ball and they were more compact with the press making sure players were not far apart from each other anytime one went to press. We need to see more of that compactness consistently. I beilive when we get a fully fit Bellerin and Tieney, our game would improve but for now we are using makeshift fullbacks and really don't have a standard midfield trio. Its 2 points dropped but if our defenders for the love of God can cut down the mistakes until we get proper replacements, then we should really do well this season because its a matter of time before that front 3 gels and when they do, there will be problems for defenses in the league. Honestly i liked what i saw today but hope they produce this consistently. Unto the next game . COYG!

Things I learned from today's game
1... Guendouzi for Motm. He really really impressed today. Aside from the assist which he gave, he was really pivotal in moving the ball forward and his passes was rarely poor nor sideways. The build up to the 2nd goal where he evaded 2 markers b4 unleashing the shot-turned-assist is the highlight of his today's game. And to be sincere, the guen of this season have improved unlike last season.
2. I dunno if Pepe is afraid to take on defenders around (from) the 60+min, or the coach cautioned him against such. But I feel he should play his game and take on defenders as he normally does. Also, he should take on defenders and be moving forward and not slow cos defenders in EPL recover very fast even wen beaten. This isn't French league where he'll dribble a defender without moving forward at all. He should learn a cue from mane or salah and see how it's done. Lastly, he should add goals to his game. Most of his shots today aren't on target, he should improve on that.
3... Emery eff up without putting a creative midfielder. Didn't know why he'll judge ceballos on that Liverpool game, thereby not starting him here. He should no Liverpool at anfield is different from Tottenham at Emirates. Our midfield was more in control with the introduction of ceballos.
4..defence needs to be looked into. I'm having a feeling that maybe sok and chambers might be our best pairing. Who knows.
Also the weekly torture of kolasinac is just starting.
5... I also feel Pepe and lacazette should flank auba instead of laca been flanked, at least our wings might be functional, even tho auba tried there in the first half.
6...the attitude of the players today was great, even after two goals down, they were still plugging through till they equalised and still searched for the winner. I hope it's not just the Derby spirit o,. I hope they'll be consistent with it.

Guendouzi MOTM for me, full of energy and hunger with good positive passing (when sensible) and always wanted to get on the ball.


Xhaka conversely was the worst player; Over zealous in everything he attempts. why do you need Xhaka when Luis does the exact same thing, i.e foolish defending, clumsy tackling and the occasional 50 yard pass.

We were excellent and would have been really unlucky not to get anything out of the game. Our front three were constantly creating something and Pepe in particular always looks like every skill or pass he tries, he seems to pull it off. Ceballos too had a really bright shift. Whatever our defensive frailties are, all around we are a good attacking side.
I hate Tottenham they are yet to show anything this season. Unimaginitive in posession and lacking focus in defence. They have this really annoying habit of grabbing points when their performance suggests otherwise. Chelsea and United are both useless not even scared of them. United under Ole don't know how they want to play clueless club clueless manager and Chelsea is just a club filled with teenagers and a championship manager at best

At the very least 3rd/4th is attainable for us.

lol...was that the only thing you noticed. Well I noticed he gave long passes to our attackers and helped transition defence to attack quickly. To me tho, he wasn't so bad, aside his rash penalty.

Xhaka should be ashamed of himself. He doesn’t offer enough to continue to be such a weakpoint for us. The occasional diagonal long ball does not make up for the blunders, concentration lapses, or his agility of a planet
