Following the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, some mob in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State stormed the MTN office in the state leaving many staff injured and valuables being destroyed, Leakers.ng report.

Nigerians picketed the building on Tuesday following reports of killings of foreigners especially Nigerians in South Africa.

Leakers.ng reports that reprisal attack was meted on MTN office suited at Aka Etinan road earlier today, Tuesday, September 3, while contract staff and agents were carrying out their duties.

The attack, Leakers.ng learnt is owing to the campaign by Nigerians to boycott patronage of South African businesses including DSTV, Stanbic, Shoprite.

South African mobs had launched attacks on foreigners, including Nigerians, and looted and burnt their places of business in suburbs of Johannesburg and surrounding areas on Sunday and Monday.

Three persons were reported to have been killed in a fire started by a mob on an abandoned building in the Jeppestown area of Johannesburg.
