DoubleGiant:

Please what does a quotation from the school looks like?..
is it part of the admission letter?

Email the university, tell them to please give you your fees quotation. It will come with your name.

Cheers and all the best.

Exactly, brother.

Now, most people might feel these Xenophobic attacks come and go, and it's nothing to worry about, but what if they're at the receiving end during the next attack (These attacks would still happen).

it'll be a dumb move to migrate from Nigeria (on the grounds of insecurity, unemployment or whatever reasons) only to get attacked or killed in South Africa.

Let's have some self-worth and try other countries.

I understand that the tensions are high but it's best to refrain from unguarded comments especially when you are not on ground in South Africa.

I think right now it will be wise to pause and wait for calmness and peace to take place before applying for SA visa

I believe the SA embassy will do the same. Until there is calmness unless they want Nigerians to plunge into the current crisis

Honestly I don't see that happening, we help their economy. The government knows better.

To everyone who has been telling us to stop applying for permits. It's rather unfortunate that Xenophobic attack happens almost every year. But we Nigerians have to find a way to make a living, if it takes going into the most dare situations to make a buck, we'd do it because staying at home won't be of any use to us simply because of the current situation of the country. With that being said I wish everyone the best in their endeavors in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. Eju eni ma la ari to

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by NeyofeedNigEnt: 10:34pm On Sep 03, 2019
I spoke with a friend in Pretoria today who has been living in south Africa over 10 years. He said the situations on xenophobic is not as bad as media portray it, he said it happens almost every year, he said the violence occurred in joburg and some part of Pretoria.
The attack is not on only Nigerians but all black foreigners.

South Africans hoodlums are bitter and sad claiming foreigners are taking over their jobs and women.

Every countries in the world has their own issues.
That's the only south African worst part.

Go to any hospital or use ur medical aid. As for the police clearance, inform someone to visit Alagbon on ur behalf. But u may need to send the person the photocopy of the previous police certificate issued. All d best

I am happy I made it because some of the staff of VFS are devil incarnate. Imagine one of the attendant called Racheal doubting my admission letter, saying the admission letter did indicate resumption date . I tried everything to explain to her that I am a PhD student and I can resume anytime. On the basis she almost refuse that application and after a while she insisted I must filled a waiver form in which she implicated my application on the missing resumption date on the letter. As if that was not enough she also wanted to add to my problem by pointing out that sponsor identity lack credibility. I had to be violent by calling the attention of one of the supervisor on duty who by divine intervention restrain her from adding the identity issue to the waiver form.
Implication of her action
The consular had to write the school on the authenticity of the admission letter. The school defended the admission letter as authentic. Imagine the soisidant professional Racheal who claimed to be vast in knowing how genuine admission letter should be worded. If not for God intervention, my visa application would have been denied. Thank you Jesus

Against all odds. Jesus did it.

Yea, same thing happened to me, the silly staff lady there saw I've travelled severely to,SA to,see the same person , yet she kept insisting that the ID card is not clear, That I must sign waiver.. I tell am make she bring the waiver, I signed and moved out of there, they dey find person to frustrate, Visa don comot within 2 weeks.. approved with her stupid waiver

Like Lukgaf said, you can do your medical in any hospital. The Radiological will have to be done in a hospital with X-Ray capabilities. You can try any Netcare hospitals or Lister building (downtown). The Netcare hospitals should accept your Momentum medical aid.

Secondly, if you are renewing, you don't need Nigerian Police Clearance. Your SA Police Clearance will also be done at VFS at the point of renewing your visa, so no need to get any Police Clearance.

Thanks for the feedback guys. However, what he is doing is a renewal, not a first time application. He does not need police clearance from Nigeria even if he stayed there for the past 1 year, as long as he is renewing his existing visa. If it is a fresh application, then it is a different matter. You can get more info from the "Documents Required" page here: https://www.vfsglobal.com/dha/southafrica/relative-visa-content.html

It is dicey. In 2013, I know people who simply used the office ID Cards of their sponsors, and they are still in SA now.
NIMC is a valid form of Identification in Nigeria. However, you only stand a 50-50 chance with it as it depends on the officer that will evaluate your file and make a decision.

If you can get a valid Passport Data page, go ahead.
If you can't, then use the NIMC slip. Also include the invalid Passport data page and include a letter from your sponsor to indicate that he is sending both to them due to the Passport Data being invalid now.

Once you have done that, it will be time to pray for favour. May God favour you.

Cheers and all the best.

Last renewal I did was in 2017. However, I know different people who renew regularly, including up until March this year.
