I don't know why people keep making the error of calling that gospel, "prosperity gospel", for how many people has that gospel really prospered in truth?

That is the gospel of mammon, covetousness, corruption, materialism etc., which therefore only results in the enrichment of just a few people at the expense of many.

So it is actually the "poverty gospel" in truth.

You didn't get his message. Prosperity is essential part of Christianity.

He didn't condemn giving neither did he deny prosperity. He only regretted placing a price tag on his gospel with a promise of financial blessings like most pastors still do today.

Let's get one thing straight. Prosperity is an essential part of the gospel but putting a price tag on it or not preaching a balanced gospel is where the issue is.
Jesus does not want his people to be poor as churchrats before he can term them holy. Don't be deceived by the saying that only poor people are righteous before God.
"I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health......."
We have to draw the line where we attempt no to drag the prosperity gospel too far and begin to take advantage of things.
Our God is a God of riches but also a God who gets jealous when we allow worldly things overtake us.
Balance is the keyword here
