All over the news with over a million views,
The world over, hammering on the Nigerian crew.
They say we are crooked, for corruption we brew,
I try to tell them, the bad are few
But they say no! This lie ain't new.

I drag 'piration from Falz,
To his vocals Goliath must fall.
Arm yourselves let's go to war,
Our bullets, our words,
Our guns, our re-solve.

I'm tired of the bad -
The corrupt bring to our land.
They paint our nation black,
The green has left the flag.
They steal our resource, we clap
And they destroy our future, we nap.

...to be continued..

Good morning everyone, my Bro had 284 in utme, 3 As and 2 Bs in WAEC and 19 in Unilag's screening test making an Aggregate of 72% for medicine and surgery. He wants to change to EBSU ASAP, Pls what are his chances as a non indigene? What steps should he take? Which other school can he change to, uniabuja?
Thank you

UniAbuja applicants. This year, there is a very high indication that the school would conduct post UTME exams and it's likely to be in the month of September.

Prepare.

Good morning.
Morning sir, please is there a chance it will also apply to their DE applicants. And is their MBBS accredited ?

Should have put in for Lasu......from calculation his score would be 81% or there about, would have stood a better chance there even as a non indigene, but not too late, still few options to explore

Mbbs is fully accredited in UNIABUJA.
They inducted the 3rd set of doctors sometimes May this year.
The MDCN rep announced that 6 out of 7 from the first set passed primaries at first sitting.
It's the only medical school in the country with all lecturers being mbbs holders

Stating that the University of Abuja is the only medical school in the country that has only MBBS holders as lecturers is not only an unfounded claim but is also false.

As doctors, or doctors-to-be, let's learn to speak on things based on facts, please.

Good morning.

You could have countered the claim with facts but you didn't.

I state again, and challenge you to tell us one other school that doesn't have basic medical science lecturers taking mbbs students in 200 and 300Levels.

That's how to raise rejoinders, learn it chief.

Medical students here who were not taken by non mbbs holders in their preclinicals too can help Tonye

My brother, I naturally wouldn't have responded to this post but for the sake of passing the right info to others here, I would.

Preclinicals/Basic Medical Sciences: There's a Biochemistry lecturer that doesn't have MBBS. He's got a PhD.

Basic Clinicals: There's a Pharmacology professor that doesn't have MBBS.

Thank you.

Lastly, this isn't an I'm-right-you-are-wrong discussion. Strictly, it isn't.

Having medical doctors as basic medical science lecturers doesn't even mean anything. Teaching is like a gift. Those non-medical doctors who teach basic medical science are as good as their medical doctor counterparts. So, it's needless saying that UniAbuja is the only medical school in Nigeria with purely medical doctors as lecturers. Even in Harvard, non-medical doctors still teach basic medical science courses to medical students. Besides, UniAbuja, as of 5 years ago, was shit! I don't even count it as a good medical school.

As in I don't get the importance of having only mbbs holders as lecturers. Its not a big deal at all. Non mbbs holders still do an amazing job impacting knowledge sometimes even better than certain mbbs holders. I see no reason for this to be a bone of contention really.

To be succinct and concise, having MB;BS (or BDS at that) does not mean they would be better lecturers of the Basic Medical Sciences. In most instances those who did either pure Physiology, Anatomy or Biochemistry(although you don't get to see a lot of MB;BS holders in this field) are usually better off. Hence, your assumptions are largely unfounded.

The indicators that supposed medical doctors or students here use to rate schools are annoying.
How they come to some conclusions is more annoying. Amazingly, most people stay at the comfort of their homes, dishing out the "best" and the "worst" schools. Such people are derailing the thread fast. I will implore those set of people to read the early pages of this thread and maintain the status quo.
The thread is meant to be for stuffs and guide aspirants which the topic clearly points to.
Let's the guided please. kiss
Modified: I went through the profiles(previous posts/topics) of some indicted posters,
most of them are confirmed not to even be medical students or doctors. Very funny.

Why must you be going through people's profiles to confirm who is a medical doctor or a medical student? It's not good; stop it. Everybody has the liberty to air his or her views. Stop assuming unnecessary airs. A person might even be a medical student or doctor without his or her profile or posts giving any clue about it. How some people like you judge others is mind-boggling.
