Emotionss: You are very right. But in Nigeria, you sa rifive the basics at a cost. Energy, Water, Healthcare, Education, Pollution, Bad roads, insecurity and any basics you can thinks of. To service those basics and their reoccurring resultant effect is a luxury in Nigeria. 3 Likes |

Budline1: This is the problem with some of our youths everyone wants to start big only few people are willing to start small. This is why I respect the igbos. Give him 3 million come back like 3 years later and see what her will do with that money. With vision, sacrifice and determination a person with 500k can succeed in Nigeria. 11 Likes |

Emotionss: Good businesses but do you think those are enough reasons to remain in Nigeria. I'll only support your idea only if you can multiply your profits from the business geometrically within a short period of time. You'll pay house rent, cater for your children(school fees and likes), what if you have issue with any of this businesses, what will you fall back on? (police harassment remaining constant) I'll rather travel out to a country where things work with that cash, there's always a lot of options to choose from there. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Emotionss: My brother no let good news from far about business fool you oo. Of the businesses you've mentioned here, I've got first hand experience in at least 3-4 and I'd tell you Bro it's not always rosy inside like it looks from far oo You see especially that Uber, except you be like me when no dey fear to fight or beat person, bros no do am ooo. If na you Wan drive the motor by yourself sha no wahala! Mini gas refill station, didn't you read the news on how government wants to ban them now? Plus it's not rosy too oo... na town when better gas plants no many nai e go move. Buying food to sell in large quantities, good business until those market women run you out of business Lol this na very personal experience. Summary of what I'm saying Bro is this... Running a business in Nigeria ain't easy just take note. You may not have my kind of experience but 70% of people in the business know what I'm talking about. The best businesses to invest into in Nigeria now are tech startups and Innovations. Businesses that already have a crowd should be avoided as much as possible. Better to create a niche than fight for recognition in an already saturated market 12 Likes 1 Share |

Emotionss: See eh, I don't know about others but to me, I prefer a system that works to making a whole lot of money. Hitherto, I thought of going entrepreneurial (fortunately, I've everything an entrepreneur needs to start) but after analysing the country's future and seeing how things are going, I'm not interested anymore. I prefer a salaried work in a place where things work. I've not seen electricity for more than a quarter! It has been generators all through and trust me, the maintenance, fuelling cost no be here. Having lots of money is good oh but what is the point having such in a place where one gets harassed by SARS, potential to get kidnapped, poor health facilities, unemployed people around who can become criminals overnight, poor infrastructure, multiple taxation etc? The last few months have reinforced my interest in staying in a place where things work. Is it harassment from SARS? Multiple taxation? Poor infrastructure? Please note, I'm not complaining but pointing out the realities. As a result, I cannot blame anyone who is interested in relocating provided it's legal. My grandfather told my father Nigeria will be better, my dad told me same. Should I tell my children same? 16 Likes 5 Shares |

Budline1: I have and can still do it again. Nigerians may not like them but we need to learn some business arithmetic from the igbos. While some of us are seeing limitations in 3 million, a business minded igbo man is see unlimited opportunities... 3 million is more than enough to make it big in Nigeria. All you need is vision, sacrifice and determination to succeed no matter what. It will not be easy but very much possible. 4 Likes |

royalads: People do not leave simply because of the salary. Have you considered standard of living?, Security, basic amenities, peace of mind, excellent emergency healthcare? Being a millionaire or billionaire annot buy all of this. As a millionaire, one kidnap can leave you broke in one fell swoop. Even someone as rich and dangote can have a cardiac arrest and will not have time to board a private jet before he gives up. Have you considered emigration as a means for better future for your kids? 9 Likes |

Emotionss: False! When you working, the basics can't be your problem. What we call luxuries in Nigeria are basics. When you see your tax in action, trust me, you will be happy and feel fulfilled. Life is organised and planned here. You just have to work and things will automatically fall in place "IF" you cut your coat according to your size. 4 Likes 1 Share |

franchasng: You are absolutely write. That has been our biggest and will continue be our problem. See hong Kong for instance. They all speak one language, that why they where able to hold there ground and put there govt on the edge of sward to agree to there demands. Sowore is still luck up away in a detention camp for trying to do the same thing of which if he had succeeded, by now,the govt would have started implementing some of the demand for a better Nigeria if at all, the still remain in power . Even Sowore kinsmen are afraid to speak up for fear of been the un non. Dividing this country and everybody goes his separate ways is the best viable option , that way a yoruba,Hausa oh igbo people will unite and brings it bad govt leaders to it kneels. Other wise we are just deceiving our self. Nigeria as an entity will never work due to so many tribe involved 1 Like 1 Share |

Keep fooling yourself... quote author=royalads post=81977039]I just finished reading this content on nairametrics. The truth remains that you don't necessarily have to leave this country to make it in life. Oh and the notion that there is no good jobs around is a big lie. There are lots of good high paying jobs around. The question is, have you built yourself to land these jobs. These are not the jobs you get with your basic BSC from most Nigerian Universities. A lot of you waste your time here being tribalistic while forgetting to add value to your self. Oh, in case you don't know, all these tribal battles most of you engage in have turned this platform to a playground. Most people looking for serious people don't come here anymore. I was talking to an HR consultant days back and she was looking for peeps to fill in some job vacancies with take-home of 500k and above monthly. I suggested she check on nairaland. She simply told me you don't see such calibre of people on nairaland. That she comes here only when she's looking for people for unserious roles like drivers, admin assistants and similar low ass jobs. Leave nairaland and go and build yourself for the future.
|

Gerrard59: One thing I have been doing for almost all my life, is to always see the positive side of things. In every situation I try to think of a positive outcome because failing to do so have more bigger consequences.and that has help me a lot. Nigeria may not be an ideal place to succeed for some people but there are still people who are making it big legitimately in Nigeria even without connections. 2 Likes |

Emotionss:I admire your zeal but you have to understand that there should always be plan b for everything one does in life, the Nigerian environment don't always give rooms for plan b, even those working in offices aren't given plan B, they can not lose there jobs with the hope of getting another. Nigeria is a 'one chance' country. I wouldn't want to subject myself or future kids to that. It's way deeper bruh, try to see the bigger picture. It's not about you alone, your family too, they will have opportunities to be a lot of things out there in developed countries. Some Nigerian parents gave birth to athletes, therapists, doctors, lawyers, actors, sportsmen and more overseas because they relocated to a countries where dreams come true, you can too. royalads: I understand your point, but its far better to leave this country if you so desire a better quality of life. You will agree with me that apart from corruption, nothing is working in Nigeria. Nigeria isn't worth it. Believe me. And again, why you think that some Nigerians that earn at least 1m on monthly basis as take home pay, still have to resign from their jobs and relocate with their families? Do you think they are mad? 8 Likes 2 Shares |
