Good day great people.
Ever since PPR, Its been so eventful from one arrangement to the other and everything seems to be happening so fast.. All praises to God almighty.

Pls I'm planning to land by this month ending and I have been having a lot to think about and I will really love your advise and input in shaping my movements after all what are family for.. Lol

Firstly I plan to shortland and the reason is I need to come complete a project at work and sign out finally. So I have this issues bothering my mind... I need to get my PR card before returning to naija and from all indication, one may not know exactly when it will come out. So Pls how long can I stay hoping to get it.

If I can't wait/stay too long, what document can I probably travel with when coming in next to Canada cos I don't intend to stay to long in naija once I return.

Secondly is the issue of accommodation, and I have read here people getting one before they land, I'm PNP and my province is Saskatchewan. I will like to also get such assistance in securing an apartment in Saskatoon... Pls help me anyone in that region kindly lend a hand.

Finally can I carry as low as 2.5k CAD in cash while I have the rest in bank?

Kindly help with responses. I really will appreciate ur input

Congratulations on your PPR. I landed mid August, and I can provide some answers to your questions.
1. I was told that I will get my PR card in 6-8 weeks, but I got it in exactly 2 weeks. My wife had fone back to Nigeria before it arrived, so I had to DHL it to her, and she has received it. You can arrange for someone to send it to you.
2. Yes, you can travel with $2.5k.

I have missed u @maternal.

Your colleague got rejected and they're too ashamed to say. Don't fall for their nonsense. You're also not comfortable, and if you need motivation to do something life changing for your kids, then I don't know what to say.

A ziplock bag that was unbranded for the big food stuffs. Bought it N50 per bag. The ziplocks N40 were for smaller items. You can find it in the market where u see a vendor selling different types of nylons. I used the type for gele for the dried veggies, was very cheap.
3. U can put them all in a transparent bag, securely locked.
Bracha:
Good morning Claire18, I have some questions for you. Please pardon my forward essay ☺.
1. About the nylon you used to package your foodstuffs, what is it called? Where can it be gotten?
2. Also, can i use ziplock bags for the foodstuff? What do you think?
3. Did you put your toiletries and creams in a ziplock bag or in any nylon at all?

Thank you.

Good day People. My family landed in Canada 2 weeks ago and we are still in search of accommodation. We are currently at airbnb in brampton. Please I will appreciate ideas on how we can get 2 bedroom apartment in brampton/Mississauga/Burlington/Oakville

It is faster and easier if you use agents. I may be able to share some contacts with you.

Cheers and good luck

Hello guys, I just got my application approved as a PR and I am thinking of shipping my two TV sets, LG Oled and Sony to Toronto. Is it advisable?
or I should just trade them and buy another one when I land.

Thanks.

I think we should not encourage people who have not made up their minds to migrate. From his/her post, you can see he/she has not done their own personal research and does not know what he/she wants in the first place. A lot of Nigerians do "follow follow" and unfortunately migration is a serious issue, it is not something one should jump into anyhow. People need to evaluate themselves thoroughly and be sure they have the right mentality for the move otherwise they won't be able to overcome the initial challenges and shock they may encounter. These are the kind of people that would open a thread tomorrow and bashing the country as if they were forced to migrate.

Some Nigerians do not have the mentality to live abroad and that is why you see them complaining of tax, bills, mortgage etc because they get all those things free in Nigeria. I think anyone who is serious to migrate should have made their personal research and not rely on people to validate or motivate them
you get sense, plenty plenty

Hello House,

My NOC is 1111 Financial Accountant and Auditors based on the EE profile created, but i want to create an EOI profile on Saskatchewan Express Entry then i discovered that my NOC is not part of the In Demand list but they have something similar 1311 Accounting Technicians.
So my question is that would it be advisable to go ahead and create the Saskatchewan profile provided that the NOC is different.

Is there anyone in currently in this position and what is the best advice?

Good afternoon landed seniors,

We are looking to land by October in Winnipeg. My main concern is, which area is good to raise a child.
I know Canada is a safe and secured place, but I really need your inputs about where I can raise my child with peace of mind, after all, it's the little Miss and her siblings we are doing this for.
Please, don't ignore a concerned mother's question.
Thank you!

Landing gist

So our trip ( I and my Husband) was booked 100 days before…now it was the d-day July 17th 2019. We had intentions to cargo, then later changed our minds to go with 4 boxes 23kg, by the time I had packed in the foodstuffs, I was 3 boxes full, with the 4th box half full with foodstuffs. I had to let go of the foods and pack some clothes, shoes, mini blanket, personal care items etc. I used the generic some list provided on the tread then added other foodstuffs that I love as an Oriaku. Ugba, Abacha, Ogiri, Ukwa etc . The Ukwa weight no b small, I had two bags, had to forfeit one and schedule for Cargo. I learnt that my Cargo can come much later, even after 3 months, so far the invoice was stamped. This made sense, cos I didn’t seem to understand how I will be carrying so much luggage to an Airbnb. Whilst packing, I had bought 2 cargo long sacks, and was putting clothes n sweaters that would be sent via cargo later in it.

[

Hi Claire, how's life in Canada? Hope you are enjoying the weather and all. Could you please tell me how you went about shipping some of your foodstuff via cargo. I would greatly appreciate if you could. My sweetie is making her trip to Canada this Friday, and her load has gone overboard. So, we're considering shipping some of her stuff but we don't have any idea how (and where) to go about it.

Hello,
Please do I need an ID Card to collect my passport and COPR at VFS?
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Eddy4400: 4:36am On Sep 10, 2019
Nope. Just the visa fee and acknowledgement receipt attached to a photocopy of your passport data page (received the day you paid for and submitted your passport)
