Agbede Bows, Endorses MC Oluomo As Lagos NURTW Chairman by lekanolas: 2:11pm On Sep 09, 2019 |
Immediate past Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Union (NURTW) in Lagos State, Tajudeen Agbede has finally endorsed Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo as his successor. MC Oluomo was appointed the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the union by the NURTW National President, Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa on Tuesday last week. Oluomo’s emergence as the new chairman follows the dissolution of the executive committee of the state chapter hitherto headed by Agbede, Agbede and Oluomo have been at each other’s throats for a while over the NURTW chairmanship in Lagos. Agbede, who is now the union’s National Vice President (South West), is supporting Micheal Ajulo to succeed him. Agbede resolved to endorsed MC Oluomo followed the intervention of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, who intervened in the crisis threatening the unity of the union in the state. Tinubu was said to have prevailed on Agbede to reconsider his stand on MC Oluomo considering the tension already created over the chairmanship tussle. Some members of the union had on Wednesday marched on the premises of the Lagos State House of Assembly in Alausa, Ikeja, to protest Oluomo’s appointment. http://newsday.com.ng/agbede-bows-endorses-mc-oluomo-as-lagos-nurtw-chairman/

ImperialYoruba: You conveniently omitted Micheal Ajulo because he’s not a Muslim. Stop the religious bigotry. If you want to be one NURTW chairman, go and report to the nearest garage in your area tomorrow morning and work your way up instead of playing the religion card. 4 Likes |

yinkus6750: That is why he’s the Asiwaju of Lagos. What’s the relevance of a leader who cannot settle dispute between warring factions of a volatile trade union like NURTW? Is it not better to intervene quickly so as to prevent escalation into violent attacks? 2 Likes |

Wiseandtrue: What is touts taking over from you? Are you a member of NURTW? Are you a bus driver? Are you a bus conductor? What exactly are they taking over from you? Why do you people carry needless load on your head over what's really not your problem, all because of misguided hatred and bitterness. Don't you have day to day issues affecting your life? Or Mc Oluomo and NURTW responsible for our next meal or daily bread? |

Wiseandtrue: You mean NURTW leadership nomination is hindering your movement and your daily life? Very silly, even sef, what arm of the government is NURTW under? NURTW is not a government agency or ministry, it's a private organization and they conduct their affairs according to their own rules. Stop sounding ignorant. |

The people complaining about this appointment and endorsement are not serious. Are they expecting Atiku or Peter obi to be chosen as the nurtw chairman or what? We all know who NURTW members are and what they do and the best thing is to manage them by guiding them. |
