Of course he did but his performance reduced in the 2nd half when Iwobi was subbed off.

Ok

So, Bae was seriously thinking I was gonna miss this game for anything in the world She never see anything cheesy

Missed a great deal of the first half, but watched enough of the game to make an informed proposition.

I've got one question to ask though : How long did Rohr think he could have kept the Ukrainians out after witnessing Shevchenko injecting fresh blood into his team?

Late sub! That's always been his bane, when he finally made one, he made a terrible one...

It's just a friendly anyway.

If we get Ejaria and Tomori our team has been complete

Others would be luxury additions

Watching Uzoho broke my heart and my mind also drifted to Alampasu. It shows you can be good but not have the right trajectory in your career. Uzoho needs to keep working hard, same goes to Alampasu who I hope can put his club travails behind him. Make the most of every opportunity that comes.

Sad we did not get to see Maduka.

Ekong deserves praise for the lots of running he put in. He helped cover Ajayi with his running. While Ajayi complemented him with his brilliant tactical display. They were a good unit for a long while. It was also impressive with the way the players tracked back repeatedly to help the defence out.

It was a great game for Nigeria supporters to watch as the Super Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Ukraine in Dnipro Tuesday night in an entertaining international friendly.

Allnigeriasoccer.com's Izuchukwu Okosi rates the performances of the players.

The Starters

Goalkeeper

Francis Uzoho : This is undoubtedly Francis Uzoho's best match for Nigeria as he stopped so many goal bound shots that came his way.

The youngster was in full command of his area and the goals he conceded were no fault of his. 8/10.

Defenders

Ola Aina : The right back was comfortable in defence although was sometimes caught out of position which the Ukrainians sought to exploit. 6/10.

Jamilu Collins : The Paderborn left back had to contend with West Ham United's Andriy Yarmolenko but nonetheless asserted himself well in the first half. However the hosts carved open a chance from his position in the second stanza as Oleksandr Zinchenko succeeded where Yarmolenko failed. 6/10.

Semi Ajayi : Delighted and frustrated in equal measures. The versatile West Brom man made some vital clearances but was also guilty of gifting away the ball a few times. 6/10.

William Troost Ekong : The captain of the Eagles on the night. Mopped up any danger but went off with a thigh injury. Hopefully it won't be a serious setback. 7/10.

Midfielders

Oghenekaro Etebo : The Stoke City star was the deep lying midfield operator who distributed the ball and broke up plays commendably. 7/10.

Joe Aribo : What a debut. Well taken goal, good link up plays and defensive support as one of the double pivots. Surely would play in a competitive game for Nigeria soon. 7.5/10.

Alex Iwobi : What a performance by Iwobi on the night. He assisted Aribo's goal with a crisp cross though kudos also goes to Samuel Kalu who found him with a pass.

Was at his creative best but missed a good chance to score as his shot from the edge of the Ukrainian box early in the second half fizzled out. 8/10.

Attackers

Samuel Kalu : The Bordeaux forward tormented the hosts. The assist by Iwobi came from his industry. He dribbled past three players after a great turn. He however fired a shot wide in the second half to deny himself a much deserved goal. 7.5/10.

Samuel Chukwueze : The Villarreal forward was bright and deadly from the right flank as usual. He was a menace, sometimes drifting inward to overload the midfield and thus allowing Aina to dart forward from the right flank. 7.5/10.

Victor Osimhen : The Lille striker was very keen to impress as the audition for who succeeds Odion Ighalo as Nigeria's number 9 has begun.

Osimhen chased and harried the Ukrainian defenders. He found himself in good positions but was not adequately supported in attack. 6.5/10.

The Substitutes

Anderson Esiti : Replaced Alex Iwobi and made a vital block with his first touch of the ball. Was a steely presence in the midfield and thankfully his foul in Konoplyanka was not punished in the 90th minute with a freekick. 5/10.

Moses Simon : Came off the bench in the second half. Good link up plays but not enough time to impact the game. 6/10.

Dennis Bonaventure : A second half entrant. Had a glorious chance to add to the score sheet but his placed shot was saved by Andriy Lenin. 4.5/10.

Josh Maja : Not enough time to impact the game but good thing he witnessed a great game by the Nigerian teammates. He will pick Nigeria over England surely now. N/A.

Chidozie Awaziem : Replaced the injured Troost-Ekong three minutes to the end of the game. N/A

Chukwueze.

Brilliant on the ball. Such a fighter and has guts. Very entertaining to watch but he needs to grow off the showmanship and move towards efficiency. His dwelling on the ball and trying to do it all alone caused the team chances at goal.

This should be ironed out and the team needs thorough education in watching out for players in space while on the offensive.

Rohr needs to sort this out because this problem has been on for a long time.

Stop making it look like you are oblivious to the fact that Nacho has not had a steady run of games and lack of full time games. He used to be one of the most clinical strikers in Europe and I think in the history of the EPL.

Such talent does not vanish into the thin air. If we join hands to let it waste, we will be doing ourselves a disservice.
Lol

We need Eze and lookman as well. Moses Simon and Ahmed Musa should be dropped from the team asap

I hope Osimhen maintains his shape. He looks fit and on the right diet. He should not buy into bulking up and keep working on his speed. He is indeed a joy to watch.

Uzoho should not have been beat on his near post for the first. He was outstanding apart from that

Iwobi needs stamina training ASAP. We need him firing on all cylinders for as long as he is on the field. He got a lot to offer and the quality is there.

There is nothing that an Aribo can do, an Etebo can't do better. We need an Azubuike more than we need either of Aribo or Etebo.

Aribo is okay

But zuby is not good enough according to some people here

Yea I made that point few pages ago when the game was still in progress that aribo didn't put in his best in the game. The little he gave may be due to the fact that he is not used to the team at the moment.

Aribo had a good debut that every player will crave for. His touches wey good, didn't lose possession, kept things in the middle simple and as well initiated attacks few times. He's best is yet to come but so far I think Rohr likes what he saw in the kid already

He scored so its a good debut

It was an intelligent finish from Zinchenko. The young man did everything to suggest he was going for the far post and went for a near post finish. I think sometimes we praise the scorer for brilliance than hammering the keeper.

I tell you...i keep telling them Zuby is the most talented of all the defensive midfielders we parade...he will be more efficient than Etebor because Zuby doesn't play around trying to dribble everybody like Etebor. Zuby is equally disciplined, very disciplined.

You don't think Zuby can do what Etebor is doing,if not better. Dont get me wrong, Erebor is currently the most reliable SE midfielder but I know am inform Zuby will bench Etebor of today.

We have a coaching crisis but rohr fans will never agree. From the world cup to afcon and till tomorrow we have no future with this rohr.

Amaju can keep him for all he care and the disgrace continues. Bull shit

Our big chance to improve our rankings again gone with the wind
With Rohr at the helm of our football, the dawn that is on the horizon of our football will never break. We will forever be hoping. The man is a hopeless dinasaur - too rigid, too outdated.
