Is it not possible to cut electric wires with insulated pliers, getting it disconnected from power source? I'm just thinking...

If you cut the wire, it will sound an alarm instantly.

If it electrocutes a burglar, it will sound an alarm instantly.

If two of it's wires bridge, it will sound an alarm instantly.

It sends out a certain amount of current and monitors how much of the voltage returns to it. Anything that suddenly drops its return voltage beyond a set threshold will cause it to trigger the security breach devices, such as strobe light, alarm speaker, GSM caller or SMS sender etc

You can also set a panic remote or on and off remote, where you can trigger the alarm when you are panicked or turn off a false sounding alarm remotely.

Even when its alarm is triggered, you need its remote or set password to turn off.

I can go on and on.

Thanks for the explanation. But you seem not to understand what I mean by a "Builder".
An Education on my position
A Builder is a professional who studied building or building technology or any other related discipline in the built environment in any higher institution of learning and registered with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON). They are specially and primarily trained for the construction of buildings in it's entirety. Engineers (e.g. structural, electrical and mechanical), architects, quantity surveyors etc. are respected "CONSULTANTS" on the building site.
I hope our dear nation will pass her building code (NBC) to law to regulate the operations of Professionals in the built environment and ensure sanity in the construction industry.

How much did brabus paid you for this advert
In case you have forgotten
Brabus builds only titanic ( sinking houses ) and he’s very arrogant
He’s one of the reasons why many people left
He was banished as an outkast
Nobody wants him back
He swindled lots of people of their hard earned cash

You are very wrong!
People, like Brabus, commit offenses or make very grevious mistakes.
People are vaught and made to PAY for their mistakes (You commit the crime, you serve the time).
People use the TIME OF PUNISHMENT to reflect on their bad behaviour, admit their error, pay penance and resolve to live a better life
People then ask for forgiveness from those they have offended.

As long as someone who has done wrong, has paid a price/punishment for their error, ask for forgiveness and resolve to turn a new leaf, l will always be willing to give them an opportunity to demonstrate that they have repented (ofcourse, under very close scrutiny).

He who is 100% righteous, should cast the firs stone.

@Brabus, l welcome you back, l hope you used the hiatus to seek look inwards, reform your character and determine to be of exemplary character, going forward?

It is a food processing factory and also a storage facility. I am not looking for fancy or expensive tiles. Just strong and durable tiles that will not break easily. I am thinking of ceramic tiles. without re- igniting tensions - i just want to say this thread has been extremely helpful to a novice like myself. a 3bed house in Abj is almost complete and my family (whom i am building it for ) would be moving in, in a few weeks

So far, i have spent just under 7million naira ---- around 6.8million to make it "habitable".

whats been completed so far includes 3bed (all ensuite) - toilets/showers, french windows, Turkish security doors etc

Floor tiling everywhere (inside and outside - used nigerian ceramic tiles)

POP everywhere - the living room actually has those POP designs with "hidden lights", all doors fitted,

Electrical/Plumbing done but waiting for NEPA to come do their bits, Fence has been erected but not plastered

Whats outstanding

Nepa - connection

Carpenter ish - builds of the Kitchen cabinet/bedroom wardrobes

Borehole (i was given a very high bill, 1 millionaire for borehole at the inception of the work and i just decided to channel the monies to other aspects and perhaps deal with the borehole last

Exterior flooring (interlocking)

Gate/plaster fencing

Painting.

I embarked on this project January of this year because i was tired of paying abuja rent for my mum and didnt want to renew her tenancy when it expires towards the later part of this year. I got someone a QS to supervise the project for me as i am somewhere in afghanistan + being a novice. We have had our ups and downs throughout the project but so far, we have carried on and i can vouch for the work he has done.

I tried to use some services from some of the "tradesmen" on this thread and was unfortunately disappointed - I however found the numerous advises from some others here very valuable - especially as it was like a 2nd and sometimes 3rd opinion which equally helped me save costs: but more importantly, helped me know that the advise i was given by my QS was a good advice.

I will post pics just before they move in but just want to encourage anyone whom like myself, would want to commence on a project and isnt sure they will be able to nor is discouraged, start with what you have and set your self a realistic timeline based on your personal circumstances, get a good QS and see what God can do......i ensured my family visited the site every 3 - 4wks and made video calls whilst there to assess the progress of the work as well.

Finally, do not bow to family pressure to hand your project to a family member especially, if like me you are building by proxy because sorry be your name...... notorise your work with your Site supervisor or QS - i always ensured all my communications regarding instructions and monies were typed via emails/chats and kept phone calls to the QS to a minimum because- NEVER say NEVER

Also, dont cut corners - i remember when i tried cutting corners for the plaster work because i was told here that i could get my plastering done for cheap, yeah that cost me as i had to pay to have the work done again

Anyhoo, thats me for now, GOD bless us all

GoD bless u sir, its very good things to build for ur mum, very very interesting, ur children will do more for u on earth, thanks and welcome,

Here’s my opinion on the issue that you raised.

Many vendors have moved on and stopped posting either because of personal commitments or being bullied away.

For owners like me, many of us have finished our builds and many more since then, gained the experience and simply stopped participating.

In my opinion this specific thread has outlived its intent if not its usefullness. (Edited to add the following for clarification).....for people like me on the list. Of course it continues to be useful for new builders and the accompanying spam adverts.

________
Brabus

Let's not stop participating. How about we sharing the lessons we learnt in our build journey? I believe a lot of vendors, builders and intending homeowners will learn great lessons from us. But definitely not on this thread. And we need to be a lot more civil this time.

I have a lot to share on travails of brabus grin

Oh, sorry I saw it earlier but supposed one of us has responded to it.

Well, it's not the standard but if you don't have other option (space for elsewhere) it can be managed.

Suggestion: Reduce the breadth of the tank by 1foot (to be 7feet instead of 8 ) so that you can have at least 4feet from the 1bedroom BQ, it will still serve for the 2 buildings or add it to the height to be 11feet instead of 10.

Thanks

You can also set a panic remote or on and off remote, where you can trigger the alarm when you are panicked or turn off a false sounding alarm remotely.

Even when its alarm is triggered, you need its remote or set password to turn off.

I can go on and on.

WHtas the advantage of the side pipping style, instead of coming down first...then going up again.highlighted in yellow

i think your style may increase water pressure, inside the house, would use less pipe. but its a bit unsightly, so pls educate us more on why u used that approach

Everything/every system has merit and demerit

Advantages of this system fly over ( upper connection supply)
1. It will reduce materials.
2. There will be water for both the upper and down floor of the building at the last bottom level of the tank water.
Disadvantage
1. Their will be likely air lock once in a while( but once the taps are open within 2-10 minute it will be off).

Advantage of direct downward system.
1. Air lock can not occur on this system

Disadvantage
1. Once the water on the over head tank is low, the upper floor will experience low pressure of water

Actually I use to do both, check the pics here we did down ward system for a nairaland member, Gbadex did the painting.

Flying cold water supply is rather vernacular, shouldn't there have been a booster pump.

Do you do the "fly system" based on your clients informing you of their views or its your idea entirely?
