samorobo:You see the article you quoted says the joint exercise took place in kofi annah peace keeping institute. while that of the trainning took place at jungle welfare trainnng institute ( the only institute for that in west africa) . you should be able to separate the obvious mistake you keep committing. And regards to the 20 million buying of security space. it is another misconception from you. America wanted to expand his millitary mission in Ghana( the money is for buying of equipment and setting up in Ghana, not giving Ghana Goverment as a kickback ) just like he had been doing. but the opposition kick against it( for obvious reasons) . since Ghana is democratic country . it is easy to mobilised people of like mind . people matched in the street and demand the Goverment to stop the arrangement. I bet such a voluntary demonstration hardly exist in west africa. for such a critical information to get to ordinary ghanian shows how democratic Ghana is. such information is always hidden from the public until it is done. it is security issue . currently , America is setting up a 100 million dollar drone base in Niger republic. yet it still dosnt mean they are buying up Niger. |

GREAT NEWS.. Ajiri Daniels 1 min ago Agribusiness: Firm links Nigerian farmers to $100bn UAE market Uche Usim, Abuja Hopes of boosting agribusiness in Nigeria brightened on Friday as a consulting and digital technology firm, Crenov8 Consulting, is working on creating a strong linkage between Nigerian farmers and produce buyers in the United Arab Emirates and Africa. The firm said the UAE market remains very lucrative for Nigerian farmers to explore because the Gulf nation imports about 80 per cent of its food and the market is estimated to be worth over $100 billion. The Manager Consultant of Crenov8, Bola Oyedele who made the disclosures at a workshop themed: “Meet the Farmers Conference (MTFC)” in Abuja, said the aim was to bridge the gap between the African market and the Dubai market, and other markets within the Gulf region. According to her, the government needs to broaden the existing bilateral agreement to accommodate private sector players. She said the move has become necessary because in 2017 Crenov8 was totally rejected by the Dubai government when it tried to partner with it, insisting it would only deal with the Nigerian government. “A country like China is making it because of their strong bilateral agreement with other countries; so we need our government to come in with a strong bilateral agreement that will bring in foreign investors for the development of the country,” she said. Oyedele further revealed that an event was being put together from November 27-28 in Dubai for Nigerian farmers to meet their counterparts in other countries to allow for cross-pollination and synergy. “The theme of that event is “Creating a Sustainable Future for Food Security”. Crenov8 has resolved to ensure the use of modern technology in Africa”, she added. Also speaking at the event, the representative of the Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association Of Nigeria (FACAN), Musa Labara, explained that the MTFC initiative was aimed at connecting large-scale agro-commodity producers to buyers from the Middle East. He said: “We are not only talking about the international market but, including our local market because we need a standard market. “We want to meet with the international standards, so that our commodity can be marketed both at home and abroad without any challenge,” he said. A documentary broadcast at the event showed that Nigeria is the second largest producer of sorghum in the world and largest producer of rice in Africa, with over 30 million hectares of farmland cultivated. It further revealed that on a yearly basis, Africa exports over $35 billion worth of agriculture produce to other parts of the world and analysts have speculated that this figure will rise to $400 billion by 2050. 1 Like |

samorobo:do you know the words DEPLOY and USE don't mean BUY or EXPORTED...... The vehicles used by the UN are not owned and have never been bought by the UN. They are owned by the countries participating in those UN missions. And guessing by your silence on the fact, I assume you have realised that no proforce vehicle has ever been exported to Southern Africa. Lastly The pic below: a pair of Rooivalk attack helicopters used during a MONUSCO mission.... These helicopters are owned and operated by SAAF and not the UN just like the Proforce vehicles deployed are owned and operated by the country that owns them and not the UN.

vaxx: Yes I didn't bother checking because I don't see the point doing that. You are saying we started ranking well in 2017, I THOUGHT THERE IS FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING, yours that has been ranked well what stopped it from loosing it position? Why is it not also ranked? Was it also influenced to be ranked lowly?...let's just say Yours is better, it should be competing with ours on that ranking but clearly that's not the case.. Time HIGHER EDUCATION (THE) are not the first to rank us well other rankings have done that as well, they can't all be wrong...just wait 2021 and you would see more Nigerian unis rank higher 1 Like |

Xenophobia: Nigerian professors suggest solution Abdullahi Ashafa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Kaduna State University (KASU), on Wednesday urged the Nigerian government to shift its foreign Policy from African centred to citizens centred. Mr Ashafa, a professor of Diplomatic and Military History, made the call during a Discourse on “Xenophobia in South Africa: Its Origins, Trends and Remedies”, organized by the History Department of KASU. He said Nigeria must abandon its “Father Christmas“ foreign policy which leaves it with nothing to show for it, to a more rewarding foreign policy beneficial to Nigerians. He said that rather than cry over xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, the federal government should make the country attractive as a destination for greener pasture. According to him, the foreign policy of a country depends on the strength of its economy, military and leadership. He therefore called on Nigerian leaders to live up to their responsibilities to make Nigeria great and attractive. “We are living in past glories by telling South Africans our roles in their liberation struggle, which they have all forgotten and treated as event of the past. “Our country has retrogressed and became irrelevant because we have been surpassed by countries that once looked up to Nigeria as a destination for better living. “We have been sleeping for too long, governed by corrupt, gluttonous, predatory and irresponsible clique of elite. “We have allowed our corruption, terrorism, banditry, lawlessness and laziness, bad roads, non-functional institutions and infrastructure to define us, which allowed the world to treat us as bunch of criminals,“ he noted. The professor further said: “If anything, the South African events should wake us up as Nigerians once woke in the 1980s, with the popular slogan ‘Ghana Must GO’. “Today, Ghana is the envy of not only Nigerians but the rest of African countries,“ Mr Ashafa said. He, however, advised the South African Government to educate its citizens to embrace the African identity and run an inclusive government to attract more skilled Africans to create an ‘America in Africa’. The DVC explained that, as the most industrialized economy on the continent, South Africa is the only country that could provide economic opportunities to African professionals. The South African justice system, he said, must also wake up to its responsibilities, stressing that over 400 foreigners were killed between 2008 to date and none of the perpetrators was convicted. On his part, Jeremiah Methuselah, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Arts, KASU, said the xenophobia was not fear of foreigners but deep-seated hatred of South Africans against their fellow Africans. Mr Methuselah blamed the unabated attacks on fellow blacks Africans, on economic competition, false nationalism, the feeling of superiority over fellow blacks and exclusive nature of the country’s governance. He explained that the many years of apartheid has robbed the South Africans of their self-esteem and isolated them from other Africans, stressing the need to help them out of their current psycho-phobia. Another discussant, Suleiman Shehu, Director, Centre for Basic Studies, KASU, noted that apartheid was abolished in 1994, but the mental effect remained with the South Africans. According to him, Africans need fellow Africans to move forward as a continent, adding that embracing inclusive policies would help attract more ideas and skills needed for growth and development. Earlier, the Chairman of the event, Terhemba Wuam, Dean Students Affairs, KASU, said that History Department had continued to set agenda in discussing issues of national and international interest. Mr Wuam, the immediate past Head of the department, said that the 90 per cent of those controlling the South African economy were western foreigners. He said that the intense competition on the 10 per cent economic opportunities by the indigenous population and other Africans was among major factors fueling xenophobic attacks.
