willsonzzy:If you are in Accra, find your way to STC station in Tudu and board a bus to Aflao( the fare is Ghc28). When you alight at the STC Park in Aflao, you walk down to the border and stamp your passport out of Ghana and into Togo. After border crossing, Just walk down to the car park right there on the Togo side of Aflao, you will see vehicles loading to Cotonou, Seme and Lagos. The Seme cars loads faster and the fare is 6000Cfa, you will alight at Hilla-Codji (Togo/ Benin border), cross on foot whiles the vehicle crosses to wait for you at the car park on the Benin side.( stamping of passport here has to do with your smartness. If you don't have a passport and yellow card, you pay 500cfa on both sides to immigration and 300cfa for yellow card). From Hilla-codji you pass Cotonou and drive to Seme, Just pick a bike to cross you to the Nigeria side for #500 if you aren't stamping passport. I am sure you can find your way from Seme to your final destination in Lagos. I hope this helps..... 9 Likes 1 Share |

Zejunjo:At the time I made that post, the Togolese and Benin immigrations charge passport holders depending on nationality and travel experience of the holder of the passport. i.e, if its a virgin Nigerian passport, the price is higher and your negotiating skills determine the amount you will pay. If the passport already have visas and point of entry stamps from the EU or UK and North America, price will be less cos they know the holder isn't a mugu so their stamp is just decoration in his is passport. I don't know if that is still the situation atm. |

ViktorOG: Lagos to Cotonou is straightforward. I was there late June and returned early July for the first timer. I still spent more than I should being a first timer who drivers and Okada riders want to take advantage of. But my return trip was smooth and cheaper. Your best and cheapest way is to find your way to Badagry from Mile 2 or Alaba or around LASU. Don't take Seme border straight from these places unless you have load of cash. Mile 2 to Badagry is between 1500-2000 (I paid ₦800 in July). Badagry to Seme border is between ₦800-1000 (I paid ₦700 in July) Just walk straight to the border, avoid those Okada guys with sweet mouth that they will carry you through. The 2-3k they will charge is a waste. I paid why going due to ignorance. Just walk straight in, if you want to stamp your passport, hold it and your Yellow card. I stamped mine and gave ₦500 to NIS while the Benin immigration collected ₦1000 to stamp me into the country. I paid ₦500 to the security men as I was being carried out by the Okada. It's better to get to the park and board a vehicle. It's less than 10 minutes from the border along the road once you enter the country. Return trip was far better as I had learnt my lesson. From Cotonou straight to the park at Seme. I walked straight to the border, Ports Health asked for my Yellow card, and wanted to collect money because I don't have Meningitis vaccine record. I pleaded since I was low on cash. They let me go. Stamping my passport, the Benin guy asked for ₦1000, I gave him the 400cfa with me. He took it and stamped my passport. At the Nigeria window, my passport was stamped, he asked for 1k, I told him I didn't have, which was true as I needed to cross to use POS. He let me go. That's how I just walked out through the gate back to Nigeria. If you don't have passport, be ready to give at least 1k to our immigration guys at the gate (Nigeria end) and 500 or 1k to Benin guys at their end. You are in. 3 Likes 1 Share |
