Nigeria has always made more money under the vultures and their gangs with manipulations and exploitations of the citizens. But the problem is that all of the monies go back to the vultures and their gangs, so no impact 9 Likes 1 Share |

I was just about to type Bubu is working until I read the line saying our agricultural and crude exports declined. So in other words, rather than a trade surplus, there is a trade deficit. We increased our importation of goods, this isn't good news. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

This is very commendable! We are gradually moving from an import based economy to an export one! More of this in H2 2019

Great news, but how does this affect the common man? I know someone here will come here and give me one stupid economic explanations. If any of government's achievements doesn't translate to better living conditions for the common man/masses then we no wan hear am. Now VAT has been increased to 7.5% including Electricity tariffs which translates to more hardship for the common man. DEAD GOVERNMENT 2 Likes 1 Share |

RealLordZeus: Go through the report again, then you would see imports increased by 65% while export by a mere 1%, so it is actually a bad news my brother 5 Likes |

This is a very good development that shows we are gradually moving away from import dependent to export. It may be slow but I’m very positive that before the end of 2020, it will be visible to the blind and clearly audible to the deaf that Nigerian trajectory is changing for the better. |

okosodo: In a bid to castigate the government you ended up making yourself look foolish. The report there is about what every single citizen and government of Nigeria contributed contributed to the import and export of the country. It has nothing to do with the revenue accruing to the government neither does your question of embezzlement come in. The question that should come in is that what exactly did you contribute to the figure above either in terms of import(negative) or export(positive)? 3 Likes |

there is no good news. The value of exports for the first half of 2019 fell by 1% compared to the first half of 2018. The value of total exports has remained relatively stable since 2018, but the value of imports has maintained its steady rise, hence the decline in trade balance since mid-2018. The report attributed the slower growth in exports to a combination of slower growth in the value of crude oil exports and decline in the value of non-crude oil exports in the period under review 2 Likes |
