kayzat: This is absolutely normal. My ds also displayed for us when we got back from sallah break (plenty people). When we got back, he cried for like a week. Serious cry, I must not step few inches away from him n all sorts. He's back to his normal self now. Just be patient and wait it out. |

StrongWoman333: Yes. All immunizations from 12months are paid. Ask about it where you get yours. Check your card, all the immunization schedule is well detailed there. |

Stmema: We're in the same shoe. I guess you can't stop it. It's there stage and time. You also cannot be carrying the child up and down as this is their time to explore. It's your own little work to make the place baby safe (by being proactive, clean clean clean, pick anything on the floor before he does). It's hard but that's the price of being a parent. May God reward our patience and hardworking. The other mama already answered the second question. 1 Like |

Hello lovely Moms! I'm a ftm who has been a silent follower of this thread for some months now, but just joined nairaland now. My baby is almost 2 months old now (7weeks+). Pls I'll like to ask if it's normal for a baby of that age not to poop for 5 days straight? He only farts & pees regularly, and doesn't show any sign of discomfort. I'm really worried cos for an adult, it's a thing of concern not to poop for that long . BTW, he's on EBF. Thanks as I await your responses. |

Adequate459:If it's serious, take her to the hospital let them rule of infection. If it's just difficulty breathing at night, you can do steam inhalation before bed, (put hot water in a bucket, carry your baby and sit over the bucket, cover your head with towel and let her inhale) or you can put a drop of silverbird on your pillowcase at night so that you'll have the smell of it in your room all night to help with breathing, also keep her warm all night cuz the weather is still cold, we are currently sleeping with all the windows closed. |

Speaking of Silverbird. I recently went somewhere to see a new born baby, and then a group of older women came to see the baby too and as soon as they arrived, they declared that the baby was underweight then advised the mum to get silverbird oil and start applying it the baby's soft spot everyday to increase her appetite. I don't know which mother manufactures all this advice from the pit of hell and then makes it trend. Biko silverbird oil is way to conc for anybody's skin. It would probably burn my skin if i tried it. A mama here once wrote that she was advised to do the same thing and she ended up giving her newborn baby a serious burn on her head. Hearing the advice again made me realize it might now be trending practice. Biko poverty and frustration makes people do a lot of questionable things to their babies, which they then try to pass off as cool. Eucalyptus oil should not be put anywhere around your baby's skin, don't mix it with your baby's cream, don't give your baby a drop to swallow. It is not palm kernel oil . Finally, if you have a new born baby, you owe it to him/her not to listen to the older women around you, this includes mother and mother in law . Most of them would say anything to remain relevant. If you're having double mind about following 2qqqany of their advice, then you probably shouldn't or at least ask here first. Thank you for your time. 14 Likes |

Giddyperson: Thank you for this. That's how my SIL told me that her Dd has ntị wa ịsị, I told her I've never heard of that and there's nothing like that. She went to hospital, they told her the same. When I went to visit her, I asked her about it, she told me a nurse gave her silverbird to use on her forehead that she did and now it has closed. I told her have you applied it on your skin, do you know it's harsh? I can't even use it for steam inhalation ni. She was like Ohhhh, no wonder my baby was always crying anytime I use it on her, I even finished it. I told you there's nothing like that, hospital chased you back, you still went to see nurse mgbenga. I was even telling her to wear firm bra, MIL told her to wear nursing bra that firm bra will give her breast cancer cos of the breastmilk. I shaa just left them cos it come be like tug of war with MIL. [s]Meanwhile she's in my house doing ọmụgwọ for her daughter who's in her husband house. I don't know how someone will be here and there at the same time. She vehemently refused to go to SIL's house. If I complain, they'll say I'm not accommodating enough. From ọmụgwọ to staying with us till December. Even hubby is stylishly complaining but mbaaa!! they want me to talk so that village pipo will hawk my matter[/s] 9 Likes |

Breastmilk is the "perfect" food. not much comes out in form of solid waste as all of it's components are useful to the baby. Averagely babies poo every 5-10 days Please don't stress yourself, the important thing is baby is peeing frequently and feeding well. He will download massive poo for you soon ArewaMomma: |
