It is not really hyping the youth players though, it’s more of a criticism of the senior players.

If it was a prime Evra or Irwin nobody would be making the comparisons.
If we had prime Scholes nobody would be calling for Gomes to start.
If we had prime Giggs n Becks nobody would be asking for Greenwood n Chong to start games.

Funny enough, this same Luke Shaw was primed to be one of the best left backs of his generation when he was younger at Southampton.

Many of them still don't understand that there is a huge difference between Academy football and first team football. Not every hot Academy prospect makes that jump seamlessly that's why they have to be eased into the first team...
