I never enjoy online banter like this before this @sarosa Na something else she be. I dope my cap for ya. Last last we should all respect other people’s culture. What difference does it make if Esama throne is lower or higher. D point is simple Ooni of Ife is a king with Kingdom. Esama is a Chief or High Chief. They respect each other and if you argue from today or tomorrow it will not change the fact that they are both men of influence and affluence and what else my wife travelled without allowing me to see my baby gurl and I am pissed and I am just missing her little cuddles and whatever and I am CONFUSED. What did I just say

OKAY GUYS I MADE INQUIRIES.

AND THAT THRONE THAT ONNI OF IFE IS SITING ON IS NOT THE ESAMA OF BENIN THRONE.

ITS A WELL RESEVERED THRONE FOR TRADITIONAL RULERS THAT VISIT THE ESAMA OF BENIN.

AND THE ESAMA OF BENIN IS QUITE HIGHER THAN THE OONI OF IFE.

JUST THAT HE IS A CHIEF.

SO PEOPLE SAYING OONI OF IFE IS SITING ON ESAMA OF BENIN THRONE.
THATS A FAT LIE.

HE IS SITING ON A MERE COMMON CHAIR.
Esama of Benin can never be higher than OONI of Ife if so then Esama is also higher than OBA of BENIN.

What you said above cannot be said of the Oba of Benin with respect to Ooni (with all due respect to the Oba of Benin), how much more the Esama the late Oba Erediauwa dealt seriously with for some misconduct.

The picture should show you some ranking in the country.

Don't do that again, you hear?
Where is the oba of Benin sef I cant find him lmao

ỌBA OF BENIN ONLY CONTROL EDO WHILE OONI OF IFE CONTROL THE WHOLE YORUBA LAND

Which while of yoruba land? Is that what they told you? It took this ooni to settle the long lasting beef between the previous ooni and the alaofin of Oyo.. At one time they were not even in speaking terms.. And till date, the alaofin of Oyo doesn't show respect to the the ooni of ife, so where is the control coming from? And what exactly do you mean when u say control the entire yoruba land? Even the Oba of Lagos once disrespected opening by not acknowledging him in a public function.. Are u saying the Ooni if Ife can send a memo effecting a change in a community in Lagos or Kwara? The ooni of ife doesn't even have control over ife, they are ceremonial heads and can thrown aside by any governor for any flimsy political reason

And what happened to the so called oba of Lagos his throne got burn out of nowhere after he disrespected Ooni, mind you Lagos does not have an oba title and even the crown he is using is not an original crown. Oba of Benin and Ife are one blood, Benin can't wage war against Ife likewise Ife too, so if you wage war against any Ife them you are in trouble.

LOL.. But you didn't mention anything about the alaofin of oyo.. Historically, the old Oyo kingdom was one of the most fearsome kingdom in Nigeria. And the old king kept insisting that his throne isn't inferior in whatsoever way to that of the Ooni of Ife, that brought a huge beef that both kingdom weren't in speaking terms. It was when this new Ooni came on board that he made a historical visit to the Alaofin to quash the old beef.. But all that is now history. In the eyes of the constitution no first class kind is greater than another, they are all the same and receive the same royalties from the government. Their roles have been reduced tremendously to ceremonial heads. They don't enjoy the kind of influence they once had and what is left of them is history of something powerful and beautiful they once had.

Taking about waging war, who would want to wage war with Benin or Ife if not their own people? And if that war even happens, only the days of old where the kings determines what happens, now it is the security agents that are not answerable to any king that will come in... So forget all those stunts you see in home video, those days are gone for good

Let me lecture you this kids of this generation.
Incase you can’t grab your hands on the Benin historical book check your Wikipedia from google search, you will find out that the Benin history is dated back 1100, while the yoruba history is dated back 1500. The Yoruba is birthed from the Benin kingdom. The Benin kingdom is the Mother of the Yoruba history. This is fact but pride will not let you people know your source of history. The founder (and first Alaafin) of Oyo was only a prince from Ile-Ife.

If you already know the foregoing piece of historical information, then you decide which of the two kingdoms is the head.

Having said that:

Did you know that the kings of Benin kingdom PAID HOMAGE to ILE-IFE??

Who made this known to the world?

The first Portugese delegation to Benin kingdom did, particularly in the chronicles of João Afonso d'Avieros.

Paying homage to them by the act of trade. That is what was stated there and not the obvious. Stop misleading people please.

The British came to pay homage to the Benin kingdom in the 18th century before they caused a war that took over the binis. So paying homage is something normal when one visits your land.
Know this the yorubas states their prominence when an exiled son of the Oba of Benin went to the Yoruba land and became their king right there. It’s in history.

Rather it's the other way round. Ask Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo EWUARE 2 where he said:

You are right, but don't forget that Benin went back to Ife for a new king since they can produce one, that was when oranmiyan moved to benin, Benin then was wide to the very day asaba. That why when they want to crown a new king they always send delegate to ile Ife and the king of Ife send people to represent him. And there is a secret sword oba of Benin use to go and collect from ooni, the recent oba just collected his I think last year or so.

No, he is wrong!

No Bini person ever ruled (even as a chief) in Ife. Produce your historical source. grin

Instead, Ekaladerhan was banished from Igodomigodo to Ughoton where he eventually DIED.

On the contrary, the FIRST FIRST FIRST Oba of Benin was from IFE IFE IFE.

Says who?

Says the earliest indigenous historical sources of Benin kingdom.

Says also Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo EWUARE 2.

Listen up Lad:

The idea that a certain Benin prince became king in Ife is a 1970s forgery which was first proposed in writing by S. B. Omoreige (1970); and then by D. U. Edebiri (1970); and then by E. Akenzua (1971); and then by A. Iyare (1973); and so on till today.

Prior to their writings, such an account was unheard of in Benin kingdom by the Binis

What had been generally known to the Binis was the extant Benin account which states that Ekaladerhan lived and died in Ughoton after his exile from Igodomigodo; and that the kings of Ile-Ife were imperials, overlords, and divinities over Benin kingdom.

The 1970s forgery was announced for the first time to the Bini public by Omo N'Oba Erediauwa during his 1978-9 coronation ceremony.

Experts of Benin history have today re-examined the historical sources and have upheld the earlier extant Benin account that the kings of Ile-Ife were imperials, overlords, and divinities over Benin kingdom.

For example, Dmitri Bondarenko, a world-leading expert on Benin history has combed through the sources and have come to conclude that the 1970s accounts (which claim that a certain Benin Ekalderhan became king in Ile-Ife) is no more than a pseudo-historical, apocryphal, and unauthentic account which students of history must reject without hesitation.

Dmitri M. Bondarenko, "Advent of the Second (Oba) Dynasty: Another Assessment of a Benin History Key Point", History in Africa, Vol. 30 (2003), pp. 67 - 68, Cambridge University Press.
