Good day Guys. I am applying to RMIT for Master's in research. My potential supervisor have accepted to supervise me already as my undergraduate thesis was exactly what he is working on and he was excited to have me. My EOI has been successful. I have also forwarded my full application. 1. Now the university is asking me to submit a Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) SOP. In this document, it asks me to confirm that I have enough money to fund my studies in Australia. The issues is that I do not have the money to fund my studies. I was hoping to obtain the Research Training Program scholarship and others to fund my studies and Living expenses. And also work while I study. I don't know if I should state this in my SSVF SOP so they know the truth. Also I can not lie because I don't have a proof of my finances that will show that I can Carter for myself. 2. I am also asked why I want to study there and not my country. Also, importantly, they asked me what I intend to do after my study, if I want to work there or go back to my country and how much salary I'd desire. I do not know if stating that I want to stay in Australia and work will be a red flag and I don't even have idea of how much I wish to earn or what Visa class I will need to work after my study. Please what do you guys advise that I do with respect to both questions? Thanks in advance. |

While writing my GTE statement, is it okay to state that my brother who resides in Melbourne will be sponsoring my studies, or be silent about where he lives and leave it as my brother will be sponsoring. Either way they have the information, just thinking its better to be mute. Pls i need your suggestions cos i learnt strong ties in Aussie is part of the GTE criteria. |

You can tell them ur brother is in Melbourne, it doesn't matter as long as you have other ties back in Nigeria. I used my brother in Sydney wen I applied. fheyizsmart: |

jessetom: I think you need to talk with your supervisor on your plans to obtain the RTP but did you check the rtp deadline for rmit?? |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by jessetom(m): 12:17am On Sep 13, 2019 |
strangest: Hi. Thank you for your reply! 1. The deadline for RMIT RTP is 30h of September. The application system says that outcomes for admission is usually 1 to 4 weeks after application and Scholarship would be announced in December. 2. I have previously spoken to my Supervisor over Skype about my funding for the program some weeks ago before this SSVF SOP was requested. I made it clear that I am depended on the outcome of the RTP Scholarships. However, he did not explicitly stated that he would offer me the scholarship. But he said the scholarship is dependent on the scholarship board and he wished me success in the application. So I should email him this recent development and my predicament? The desired response from him would be that he should state that he will offer me the scholarship. Right? |

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by jessetom(m): 9:29am On Sep 13, 2019 |
strangest: Hmmm... You are right. It is offered by the school, not the supervisor. Yes it is Master's by Research program. So, what do you advise that I do, bro? |

I must commend d good works done here, kudos to all. Please I'm in a state of dilemma and I need u all to come to my rescue.I'm a registered nurse with over 5 years experience and aspiring to migrate to Australia.I hv secured admission with UNE though I have not gotten the COE,now I stumbled on some migration agents that recruits nurses to Australia but u will pay the fee for AHPRA registration from your pocket and other expenses. My question now is should I follow the school route or go with the migration agents? Note that I'm going for MSC in nursing practice and the total school fees is over 15m while the AHPRA registration and other expenses shd be around 4 to 5m.please if you know any nurse that has migrated to Australia or you are a nurse please tell me about their encounters and process.Lastly how is armidale where UNE is located, are there job prospects for student. Thanks all while awaiting your feedback. |

You may still need bridging Visa to Australia. As you will do bridging course in order to get registered as a nurse in Australia, although this depends on the outcome of your AHPRA application. It is the cheapest route, but you need to be very careful. Armidale is not a happening city, but you you are eligible for AHPRA registration if you graduate from this Uni. Silentthinker: 1 Like |

Greetings everyone, please I need your advice on this complicated issue of mine. I have an unconditional offer(full offer) from Monash university to study master of public health. On the other hand, I have a conditional offer that will require me to do a one year program and pass before being eligible to study master of social work in university of Tasmania. I just concluded my NYSC early this year and do not have any work experience in either field though still looking at getting a volunteer work experience on any. I have my first degree in biology education though with an outstanding cgpa. Please, what will you advice me to do for easy visa processing and with PR in mind as I do not know if public health can give a good chance towards PR. Help a brother please. Your contribution will be highly appreciated. Cc: bligs, WestAfrican, akinke, sollej and others. |

jessetom: If i were you, I would apply as per normal, unless I have a compassionate cum compelling reason for them to consider my application then only I will be writing them. If you notice your supervisor is really keen on your research topic, you can beseech him to weighs-in for your scholarship approval. From knowledge, there is usually no preferential treatment for scholarship as it vetted on merits. |

Addenn: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list The link above will give you an insight on courses that are on the SOL. See if Public Health or Biology Education correlate with any occupation on the list. I know Social Work is always constant on the SOL. There are other factors you need to put into consideration when choosing a school: Location, job, living expenese, PR points etc. You will easily score points for studying Social works in Tassie and probably get a state sponsorship but the question is how easy is it to find a job to offset your daily expenses? Studying Public Health in Monash Vic sounds good in-terms of living in a big city, finding jobs, enjoying nightlife etc. but how about the living expenses and securing PR after your studies? For easy visa processing and PR in mind, Tassie will be the way to go. You just have to do more research on jobs. Transferring between Unis isn't easy these days but its an option to keep in mind. You may also want to check this links on how to become a teacher in Australia as a foreigner: https://m.wikihow.com/Become-a-Teacher-in-Australia https://pathwaytoaus.com/blog/working-teacher-australia/ https://www.teach.nsw.edu.au/find-teaching-jobs/overseas-trained-teachers This is something you can consider doing after arriving in Australia. Although you may have difficulty since you have no teaching experience under your belt. One way to counteract this would be picking up some voluntary jobs. Do more research on this. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Addenn:Presently Public health is not on the skillselect list while social work is on the list and you stand a chance of state sponsorship if you study in Tasmania, the only advantage of studying in Monash is availability of more jobs opportunities to support yourself in Melbourne as compare to Hobart. Overall i will advise you to opt for Tasmania since PR is your aim in which you can relocate in the future, a lot of students are caught in a crossroad while some are even moving to regional areas after finishing school in the big cities. 2 Likes |

Thank you very much WestAfrican sir. You have been there for me from day one. I will make necessary research as you suggest. My major fear and concern with Tasmania offer is the condition of attending a one year program before commencing my master program. Will that not cause any hindrance for the visa processing? Thanks as I anticipate your highly esteem response sir. WestAfrican: |

Thank you very much sir for your sincere advice. I appreciate deeply your time and wealth of experience. How about the condition of a year program to meet up with before the commencement of my program. Am I still good to go with visa processing work? Thanks in anticipation to your response sir. bligs: |
