Thank you very much WestAfrican sir. You have been there for me from day one. I will make necessary research as you suggest.
My major fear and concern with Tasmania offer is the condition of attending a one year program before commencing my master program. Will that not cause any hindrance for the visa processing?
Thanks as I anticipate your highly esteem response sir.

Weigh all the pros and cons with for example studying Public health in Melbourne and 1yr program + Social Works in Tassie.

See if other Unis can waive the 1yr program while offering you MSc in Social Works.

If you decide to stick with the options you have in hand, you prefer to relocate to regional area after study in search for state sponsorship or do the extra 1yr and be reassured to get your PR at the end of your study?

I guess school will provide you with ecoe to cover your entire study duration and immigration is usually aware of that. So it's shouldn't affect your visa processing time. It's just the extra $$$ you have to pay for that 1yr program.

Am a nurse and i have not heard of any agency that bring nurses to australia, i don't if that is new or maybe i am not current. What will d agency do for u n d type of visa dey re promising? I can help you verify if dey re real or not ie if dey re based in Australia. If dey re real i think it might be a good option. Australian school fees no be beans.

Note that I'm going for MSC in nursing practice and the total school fees is over 15m while the AHPRA registration and other expenses shd be around 4 to 5m.please if you know any nurse that has migrated to Australia or you are a nurse please tell me about their encounters and process.Lastly how is armidale where UNE is located, are there job prospects for student. Thanks all while awaiting your feedback.[/quote]

Hi guys, I just got an offer from Griffith university to study nursing, but it's two different degrees, which are diploma for 1year and bsc for 2years, and I must meet 4.0 GPA before I can qualify for direct entry into year 2 for the bsc degree, I was only asked to pay my fees but they didn't request for ielts, I don't know if they would still request for it later on.

Hello everyone,
Pls how long on an average after applying are you admitted/rejected
Admission processing can take a week - around 2months depends on the school and how fast their admissions department respond to applications.

and how long does the visa process take.
Visa processing times varies as its also dependent on if you have submitted of recommended documents and how fast you respond to additional documents requested for . Have a look at the link below to see the expected processing times:
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500#aboutVisa-index-6

I'm thinking of applying to University of Canberra, masters in counselling/ psychology.
any advice will be appreciated
You may want to look into PR route for Counselling or psychology if you already have a Degree in Counselling and some work experiences
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list
https://www.nwivisas.com/nwi-blog/australia/shortage-skills-occupation-list-for-australia-for-2019/

What advice about Canberra are you seeking?

Also if you know of scholarships or grant that dont require me to return to Nigeria after school.
You will need to look for non-government scholarships

Hello. I need assistance about Visa classes in Australia.

I am applying for study to Australia University for Master's by Research.

The university asks me if I intend to work temporarily in Australia once I complete my degree and, if so, which visa subclass I intend to apply for to work in Australia.

I do intend to work in Australia after my study. But I do not know what Visa class to choose.
Also I am concerned if the university will be bothered if I declare that I want to work permanently and not temporarily, and I am worried if it will affect my application.

NB:

1. My major interest I to carry out a PhD after my Masters study so I don't know if it will affect my choice of Visa.

2. I will love to get a permanent residency (PR).

Thanks in advance!

E-mail. Try and get the login details to your immi account from the agent. With it you can know your current stand, if they have looked at your visa and if more documents are required.

Biko go and get it from the agent ooo. Including the email he/she created.

Let me start by appreciating all, those who answered my questions, those who asked questions that I learnt from and those who are still waiting for theirs to land. Just know that it will end in praise. That's what I told myself during the wait period.

Visa application journey stated with medicals at Fatayi Williams clinic in Lagos on 18th July via emedical thanks to the advice of folks here who told me to front load my medicals and biometrics. Went for biometrics at vfs lekki a couple of times though. First time I didn't know I was meant to have applied for the visa before going for biometrics. Only took my international passport and ATM card. Was ask for a code that was meant to be on the visa application print out. Told the guy that I haven't applied for visa of which he asked me to apply and come back again. Went home that day sad.

Went home and applied for the visa and printed all the documents sent to my mail.
Second day, I came a bit close to their closing time. Asked to come another day as the time had passed. Went home angry.
Third day was the day I succeeded. Should be 28th July or so.
By this time even the security man has known my face grin

Then the wait started. On 28 August, received a mail asking me to upload my proof of funding. Uploaded on 3rd September.

And this morning I was telling God to just do his will. Everybody around me have been like "Guy how far? You still dey? When you dey comot?" I was just tired of answering the questions.

Funny enough a paper I sent for publication was rejected and I was just down and I got the mail this morning.
On checking my mail again I saw a mail from immi and my heart skipped. Even my data froze as downloading a document less than 100kb took me close to 30minutes.

Finally I saw it and I told myself " it has ended in praise "

I think I owe it to posterity to state some lessons I learnt during the visa application journey

1. You don't need a visa agent to apply for visa. Just read the instructions and answer the questions.

2. For students visa, front loading both medicals and biometrics pays.

3. GTE Statement is essential. Just write the truth and from your heart. I think its important to mention how you fulfill each of the GTE areas. Attach supporting documents too.
.
4. If your school is not AL1 please include proof of funding in attached documents. Don't wait for it to be requested. I think it leads to delays.

5. Attach explanatory notes to some documents that might look suspicious.

6. The wait can be tiring but just believe and trust God to do his thing.

Thanks.
