since FIFA introduced MRI they've not qualified for the U-17 tourney

They have been caught na grin ..
I used to get into a lot of argument with Ghanaians on some football WhatsApp groups I belong to over this age cheat thing. they believe that we are the king of age cheat in world football!! Maybe they are right. but since the MRI was made compulsory for the u-17, we have managed to utilize it well and are now reaping the benefits. they are still there.

Nigerian ministers are like other politicians..once elected, they try to look like they are serious about their jobs. then they go AWOL...
Let's hope this one keep his promise. .
The Lagos national stadium needs urgent attention too... The Abuja stadium should have been privatized after the African games in 2003 as suggested by Amos Adamu back then ...it would have saved the government a lot of money and embarrassment..
Honestly I dunno why maintenance culture is something Nigeria still doesn't know how to get right!!

I hope so too,a football nation of Nigeria's caliber bt having a single standard football pitch is sad,one pesin on dis thread qas insulting rhor d oda day 4 expressing his displeasure over d poor state of stadiums in Nigeria.

Just look at d way we were flowing on Tuesday in Ukraine, if to say na asaba dem play d match, we would be here complaining abt hw our team can't string passes together.

Premier League club Aston Villa embarked on a scouting mission in France to identify potential transfer targets ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.

Twitter account Scouts In Attendance has tweeted that an Aston Villa scout watched Bordeaux's 2-0 win over Metz at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique on Saturday evening without revealing the identities of the players they were monitoring.

Two Super Eagles stars featured for Bordeaux, with Samuel Kalu going the distance and newly capped Josh Maja coming on as a substitute in the 75th minute.

Maja had been linked with a host of clubs in the Premier League and Championship before opting to continue his career at Bordeaux in January.

According to Whoscored.com, Kalu took the most shots for Bordeaux, three in total, and completed two dribbles, a team high figure.

First half goals from Jimmy Briand and Nicolas De Preville gave Paulo Sousa his second win of the season.

The transfer window reopens in England on January 1 and comes to an end on January 31, 2020

Paul Mukairu earns top praise from Antalyaspor coach, Adebayor

Paul Mukairu celebrates with Antalyaspor

Young striker Paul Mukairu has continued to shine in the Turkish Super Lig after he enjoyed high praise from his coach as well as former African Footballer of the Year Emmanuel Adebayor at the weekend.

Mukairu, 19, posted another eye-catching performance when hosts Antalyaspor were held to a 2-2 draw by Kayserispor, who paraded Adebayor.

He was high on confidence as he drove through the defence playing on the right side of attack and was unlucky on two occasions not to have added to his goals tally in the Super Lig.

Antalyspor coach Bulent Korkmaz said after the entertaining match: “Paul has a bright future ahead of him.
“If he continues to stay humble, he will be a big star.”

Adebayor, who captained his team, was equally impressed by the Nigerian youngster.

“He told me I should be proud of myself and to keep working hard. That I will make it,” Mukairu told SCORENigeria

The talented striker has scored a goal and started three matches Super Lig matches thus far.

Last season, he scored eight goals in as many matches for his club’s U19 team to be rewarded with a five-year professional contract.

This is the worst rating for a goalkeeper I've ever seen

Monaco needs to sort out its defence

I can say Categorically as at a few months ago Tomori was waiting for Nigeria and the NFF to call. The same thing with Oviemuno and Seyi Ojo.

But NUTTIN happened.

We the NFF lack integrity we don't understand the word honouring your word we say one thing and do another. It's not entirely fault of Rohr but all these behind and around him.
nothing happened because nothing was happening with their carreer

Double standard and bigotry at work in the NFF.

At what stage of Alex Iwobi career ws he invited to the SE. At what stage stage was Victory Osimhen invited to the SE the same goes for the Nwakali brothers.

Sometimes players are invited to camp to have them checked out and give them a sense that they are valued. Classic example is Walcott and of course our own Dominic Iorfa.

Invitation is not selection but it sets the pathway for a fruitful relationship and sense of belonging. The NFF failed woefully in this regard to create relationship.

Finally, l can tell you that no SE player will divulge the ongoing in the SE in the public domain.

They may tell me but not the media.

I know without a shadow of doubt that with regards to Sone Aluko a particularl bull of a coach demanded he use his agent and take up options in Turkey then he will be recalled to the SE.

There are several other situations but l will not go into that. You never know when virtual turns too reality don't want any legal ⚖ issues.

Alex Iwobi was initially brought in for the u23 team but his fast rise in arsenal made way for him straight to the super eagles in the space of few months.

Oshimeh then was struggling in Germany but the reason for his early inclusion to the team was based on his exploit in the U17 and also as a kid who will learn from the likes of Ighalo and nacho who was doing well then both for Club and country. Oshimeh's invite to the national team wasn't always but was called up atimes to train with the team. Today we are benefiting from that idea of blooding him in early.

Shortly after the U-17 Osimhen was called up just to train with the eagles but Rhor was so impressed by what he saw that he decided to call him for subsequent games but when his career wasn't flying he was duly dropped. I can't see how that is a bad thing.

After watching the Monaco vs Marseille match, I can confidently assert that Onyekuru should have stayed at Galatasaray. Monaco are in very poor form at the moment, I can't still understand how a team can lose a game after going two-nil up in the first 25 minutes. They have stars but no cohesion. It's unfortunate. Also, Onyekuru will find it very hard to get playing time as Jardim prefers Golovin, Gelson Martins and Keita Balde ahead of him

Team aint just aging, worst thing is the dearth of young players coming through the ranks. I seriously do wonder what happened to Ghana.

MRI plus the relatively lack of football academies in Ghana have contributed to their inability to raise formidable U17 Teams.
In Nigeria individuals own and run football academies. So many of our ex-internationals even some that never got to play for the national teams including business men that understand sports business own football academies. But such is not the case in Ghana. Only a handful of football academies exist. In the past they used to scout most of their U17 players from their professional league but now with the MRI be rest assured that any player whose bones are strong enough to play professional football can hardly pass the MRI test. grin

Well a third penalty for the home side, AEK Larnaca coming so late in the game (90+7) and it was converted.

So in the end, Uzoho leads his side a commendable 2-2 away draw and maintains their unbeaten run in the Topflight. He saved one penalty and got beaten twice from the spot all in one game.

Must be noted that AEK Larnaca is one of Cyprus' best sides having competed in the UEFA Europa league group stage last season and have come second in the league thrice in the past four seasons.
Match fixing to the core. 3pks to one home team just so they won't lose. If na NPFL, Babylonian cries no go seize!

Abraham undecided Still

"Yes, I have heard the talk. I have not really been focused on that yet," Abraham said at Molineux Stadium. "I think when the time comes, the times comes. It is about focusing on Chelsea and hopefully scoring goals and getting victories."

"We never know. You can never say never, whatever comes first really. I just have to keep full focus on Chelsea. It has been a good day at the office for the boys and me. Coming here is never easy. We played well, thankfully, I scored three and we got the three points."

Golovin doesn't play the same wing with Onyekuru

Keita blade warmed the bench in onyekuru first game so how is he ahead of him ? Keita balde has only played 60 minutes and onyekuru has played more than that

You be anywhere belle face bros ,because Monaco are not doing well he should have stayed at galatasaray abi ? But when Monaco begin do well and Henry begin score some goals you go change mouth abi ?

He wants his call up as early as October

I never felt he wanted to play for us even when he was in the championship

He is not confused. I assure you he is not. He is playing a game. This is someone that reiterated his commitment to England even in the wake of being left out of the last England squad. When quizzed about it and Nigeria's pressure to get him he said this... dated "Sept 4"

“I think I was pretty set on England, really. Of course (it was flattering- talking of Nigeria's approach) but for me my main focus was here (with England). But it is obviously nice to know that I was doing something right and going in the right direction.

“I think they (the NFF and Nigeria) tried to [roll out the red carpet], but like I said the main focus was here so there was no way of trying to do that for me, really.”

Quoted from UK's telegraph.

Now because he banged in a Hattrick just last weekend and with October drawing nearer, he now says...

"You never say never. You never know.... whatever comes first really..."

Ogbeni Abeg... Tammy is not confused. He is playing his game well. He wants that England call up so bad and he will get it. He knows riding on the atmosphere of his hat trick was the best time to create another air of uncertainty over his international allegiance. Cunning lad.

Former Enyimba man, Chima Akas (LB) played 90 mins for OS Belenenses SAD in the Portuguese Primera liga in their 3-1 away win at Maritimo.

Chima Akas wears jersey #27 for them and this was his third game in the Liga NOS after he joined them in the summer.
