Good day nairalanders... I'm at a crossroad and don't know what to do again as regard my gaining admission. I'm 19 years old, going to be 20 next year and I haven't gained admission, its my second go at Unilag as I wasn't given admission last year due to a reason or two and miscalculation errors made on my post utme result and subjects. So I wrote my jamb,i passed same with post utme, just recently the cutoff for courses were released and I checked mine hoping I'll meett merit, but to utter dismay I didn't, the merit cutoff for my course which is history and strategic studies is 64.37 while my own aggregate Is 64.05 cry I'm also not part of catchment area as I'm from Delta state, but I don't know my chances of gaining admission as regards this now, less than a point is what is stopping me now,...im really downcast as I type this .Do u think there's hope for me

Pls Mods help me move to fp, I need replies

Sorry about that OP but don't let it bring you down. The race is not always to the swift. Just be optimistic about everything and while you are waiting, develop a plan B. Matters like this, one should always have a plan B, never putting all your eggs in one basket.

You will be what you are destined to be whether it takes you 1 or more years to gain admission. Try visiting your department and the Senate, see if you can engage someone to guide you. UNILAG people have always been very receptive. They will talk to you. Good luck!

Go to HSS department on the 3rd floor of Art Block and ask for Prof Ademola Adeleke. He takes 100L HSS 108. He used to be quite helpful back then to students trying to gain admission into HSS Dept. I don't know if he is still open to helping but a trial is harmless.
