Dude,cashews have been modified to fit those environment which are prone to droughts! Just recently in Tanzania, we have planted about a million cashew trees in our semi arid areas of Dodoma and singida.And those areas are having similar climate like the one u mentioned of Kenya.So yes,new cashew seeds can do well in Kenya.

But the question remains..

Tanzania has a higher rainfall than Kenya. Also areas like Dodoma in Tanzania which is semi drought the rainfall is a bit better then some areas in Kenya. Also I think Tanzania has more arable land than Kenya and even my country Botswana. Here in Botswana we planted a lot of cashew the winter was just too much and the drought also Botswana has a lot of salt in the soil
