Gasket and rings etc were changed and today my Lexus loss power on the Lagos - Ibadan express way...in fact I had to tow it to a mechanic place in Ibadan.....now this Mecahnic said I either buy another engine or I replace the camshaft, conrod, mental etc ...now my question is...what is the likely cost for an engine or will the car work well if I decide to change the conrod and others....I travel on d lagos-ibadan express way weekly......which will possibly be d beat option considering cost and workability/durability of the car.

Good day to you all...

I use a 2008 Toyota Highlander V6.

Whenever I start the engine the vehicle sends out a white/grayish puff of smoke for a few seconds and then the smoke stops. This happens both at night or day. Hot weather or cold weather. It doesn't matter. As long as I have parked the car for a while, the white puff of smoke comes out for a few seconds (immediately after starting) before clearing up.

I also noticed one particular day I was ascending a fly over and tried to speed up and stepped on the gas pedal because I did not like the way a BRT bus was approaching from behind. The car released such a huge cloud of grayish smoke immediately I suddenly stepped on the gas. But this cleared after a few seconds.

Car doesn't overheat. Temperature Indicator is good.

What could be the problem(s).

Most likely valve stem seals. In short, engine is burning oil. Plan a rebuild.

2. Cant I just buy a new engine?
3. What are the relative costs of replacing the engine and rebuilding the engine?

Oga Gaz. I drive a 2year brand new Hyundai Accent 2015. The issue is that the brakes have now become very light when I step on it. Previously once you just yap the brakes in motion the car instantly reduces speed but now you would have to kind of really step on the brakes before it catches.
Its not really that bad but I feel that brand new feel I used to enjoy is leaving the car. I met a mechanic and he said it something called the brake master that is getting weak. Please advice on a possible remedy to get that first year braking I used to enjoy. Thanks

Oga Gazzuzz Good day... My 2005 Toyota corolla finds it difficult to start. I have to crank the engine three to four times repeatedly before it starts up. Fuel pump was replaced with an Aftermarket, Cold start has been replaced, and kick Start has been replaced as well... There was mild improvement after replacing the kick starter but it still dosen't start at first crank. Pls what should I do ?
