Guys

I greet una, honestly. Is not easy making out time especially when u just arrived.
Everything here will be acting like film trick but with time, at most 21 days, many of the pertinent issues that comes with new traveler setting down will really fizzle out.
One thing u will miss here is plenty time, everything here revolves with prompt time keeping and d way d have been able to sustain that attitude is motivating for me. I miss my boku Nija time really.
I am d only black in my school language class, I don't know why. Many Taiwanese, Americans, Europeans, Bangladesh etc, but Africa, only me.
Don't worry, many guys, Nigerians will give u "I don't care attitude when u really needed there guidance, I understand, it was so for them, so some things u will have to learn on your own. I realize that the city u are going in would decide if d NSIG group will be helpful or not, in my case, it was not.
What am I saying, this doesn't necessarily mean d person(s) are Bad, Is just an orientation u will catch sooner when u arrive, which is "Mind your business" and then "DIY".
Good guys de too that are helpful, pray to locate them at the right time and not when u have wasted enough. u see the one that will make u believe he is 24 hours busy, forget it. U will get over it
Goggle map will be ur best companion at first, until u master the shortcuts. Google maps will take u on a normal shortcut journey of 10 mins for 50min plus, I believe u know why is so.
Now another thing, if u don't have much money on arrival, there are some things u should not waste ur money buying cos u will most likely see them around very soon. Things like Refrigerator, plates, pots, brush etc joor
I bought all those here because I didn't have the right orientation about how to pick that.
Just be watching around the environments, corridors, staircases and then one big bin bucket outside (don't know how to call it), the rule as it appears to me now, is that anything u find in these places are given out looking for whom that needs it.
There's also a one euro market at Redcross, but I would not advise this except u broke , like no much money for new brilliant stuffs .,....
Things are cheap there but i think is .........
Only the bedsheet I got there I find useful now, the 4 winter jackets and sweaters I bought there, I smh don't like wearing
Please for the winter jacket, I recommend u close eyes bring out 40 euros, u will really value it than those worn out looks Redcross market.
Foodstuffs are excessively cheap here, like same with Nigeria or below that based on economy performance.

The easiest bank account will be Sparkasse but d have about a 5 euro monthly maintenance fee, so I went for Deutsch bank and N26. Deutsch bank has student account that won't need u pay the monthly maintenance fees till u graduate. Deautsch bank also have English speakers in their branches but be ready for the appointment booking, interview and a lot of documents signing which is not so with Sparkasse.
Deutsch bank is also in the cash group here, meaning I can withdraw from any branch of other cash group banks like Postbank, Commerzbank bank while with Sparkasse, withdrawal must be from their Sparkasse branch or u pay fees. Sparkasse actually have the largest distribution of ATMs anyway, but I also learnt that Sparkasse Bank of a city say Berlin is different from Sparkasse of another like Hamburg, meaning u will have to pay fees outside the city but same bank, that's ridiculous lol. (I am not sure o, got d info from Reddit).

The Sim most guys used here is Lycamobile, I made an error with the one I got. Their Network is very poor and at times enter 2g but I understand d do well in cities. Vodafone etc de too and okay.

Be reminded of the Europe copyright laws etc, I advise uninstalling ur torrent files downloaded and file sharing apps, u wouldn't like to pay a German or so attorney fees etc with ur student job work.
My guy told me even watching porns etc are illegal on public WiFi which is true but don't know if is same with ur accommodation school WiFi, just be careful. Is better to go pay for unlimited data plan monthly than risk their so many rules actually. Live streaming could be legal or illegal too depending on the copyright issue etc.
Hmḿmm, Germany is very good and nice but the people can be tricky too, (my German language teacher made that statement and my mind just went to, this their relax student visa and immigration stuff, may d tricky no reach there o].

The language is the only challenge I see
But is very surmountable, though I find it difficult to start conversation in it or reply back with it, but just a week German class has opened me up to hearing and reading as well writing the basics. So una get hope. Jenny on YouTube is a good teacher too.
U need the language to flex, u no Sabi am, u are on your own honestly.

The weather here is doing me harmattan, I understand that winter is not set yet but the cold sef much.
I think if u can just come with sweater and get a winter jacket here is preferable for those entering before Winter sets in.
Hmmm, am tired. Please come with clippers guys, come with two round plugs for extension of gadgets. I paid 13 euros just for the picture I attached. These people don eat my money plenty. I be no take the instructions serious o, mtcheeew.
Don't come with Rice, sugar, etc. Many things are better here. Na here most of u will experience d true feeling of buying original especially my fellow Aba brethren. Perfume of 3000 naira here d last longer than Naija perfume of 7k. Drinks, alcohols make sense here, not the 95% wey be fake for our side.
Stuffs here are standard but a little pricey for fashion etc.
Don't buy all those shoes and cans etc except u really know originals and have d money for it, just wear one come here close eyes buy better stuffs.
I have never seen a vegetable leaf, don't know why, ugu.
The comfort of a room apartment justify d 25 euros difference from the shared flats in my section joor.

Carry extra application materials o, cos many of u will realize here that u have made a wrong choice like me only when u arrive. There are just some things u won't understand at d valley till u climb to the top of the mountain, is still a gain gain if u understand what you want.

I rest here guys, good luck summer applicants. Honestly, like Berliner1 said it years ago and it motivated my spirit is true and very real. He wrote something like this " Bear every cost u will have to bear just to get it to here, no matter the cost implications, it will be worth it at the end". U will recover it last las be it IELTS, Goethe etc, that comment settled it for me to write IELTS, other than that, would never pay 70k for just an ordinary English exam for school application, is worth it at the end. So I hope someone applying is encouraged to do more, lol

NL actually helped me, so this is my 2nd family. I am garnished here, u won't understand. So is no retire for me, should always be back to give back here.

So that's it, I go now.

Tschüss Leute, Safe travels to those coming this period, don't fear with the whole cabin pressure loss etc esp for the first travelers like me. Mehn I hate that thing, Kai.
Lol

U might want to edit, cos I edited my post. I don't think is necessary to really quote it whole.

Amen to the prayers, we go up by helping people up. Unfortunately, some don't understand that.
Don't be afraid of sharing the information, d will never know more than u. Is a rule of life. Some people u will meet here will be beating about the bush for salient matters cos I think d are afraid of .... Or not just to comfortable to help fully.
U people should apply for these language programs o of ur schools, many are free and is very helpful. The language class fills up quickly especially for German A1.1, more reason u apply on time.
Bring a lot of jeans.

I had my interview on the 21st of August, it's exactly 4 weeks today and I haven't received AM. I am worried, I was made to sign two documents, one which states that to further process my application, the consular is in need of a blocking confirmation which I sent on the 4th of September. I have a few questions to ask gurus

Does it mean that they started processing my application on the 4th?

People that got AM without funding, did you signed the document too?

I am going to Hamburg

UPDATE-
I got my AM, one of my brothers got his own too. The last person that was denied based on Trip purpose appealed already and we are waiting for them to respond.
We are all going to BSBI (Berlin School of Business and Innovation)
Thanks.

cooltony91:
BSBI. I heard terrible news about the school. 3 weeks ago my brother was sent back his documents after 1 month. He was told that the school was on suspension. He contacted the school and he was told they had an issue during that period which they sorted out that he should go ahead and Appeal. He sent an Appeal about 2 weeks ago but we have not heard from the embassy till now.

The screenshot I sent today is for my other brother, who is also going to the school. He had his own interview last week wednesday and they sent his docs to him today. He was denied on the ground that the purpose of his trip is not ascertained.

I am also going to the same school as well, I had my interview on july 29th and I have not heard from them. Although I was sent a mail from the embassy to provide my Transcript of records for my undergraduate program. I have done that already and I am expecting a response from them.

Regardless of how it goes down, Life goes on.
