Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that FC Barcelona Escola Varsovia Football Academy starlet Kelechukwu Ebenezer has received a call-up to the Golden Eaglets squad ahead of their trip to Turkey for an invitational tournament.

Ebenezer, who has been in camp since Monday, first trained with the Nigeria U17s before the 2019 U17 AFCON and the coaches led by Manu Garba are taking another look at him again, with a view to including him on the World Cup roster.

The 17-year-old delighted fans with his skills while training with the Golden Eaglets earlier this year and was likened to PSG legend Austin Okocha by the spectators.

He is a two-footed winger, who has confidence on the ball, excellent dribbling skills, pacy and has an eye for a pass.

In the new season, Ebenezer started and went the distance in the first two matches played by Barcelona Escola Varsovia in the Youth League before he flew to Abuja to link up with the Golden Eaglets.

It remains to be seen if he is selected in Nigeria's World Cup squad as the coaches are not in dire need of attack-minded players but are desperately searching for a proven goalkeeper, who can bring confidence to the defence.

Golden Eaglets recall Japan-based Kenneth Otabor for U17 World Cup

Japan-based Kenneth Otabor has been recalled by the Golden Eaglets in time for the forthcoming U17 World Cup in Brazil.
Energetic and power-shooting attacking midfielder Otabor, who is on a school scholarship in Japan, was dropped literally at the last moment to the U17 AFCON in Tanzania.

The player of IB Sports Dreams of Abuja featured for the Eaglets at the invitational tournament in Turkey leading up to the U17 AFCON in Tanzania.

SCORENigeria sighted his invitational letter dated August 29, 2019, asking the principal of Kochi Chuo High School to release Otabor for the Eaglets training camp in Abuja.

The Eaglets are also scheduled to feature in another invitational tournament in Turkey next month preparatory to the World Cup in Brazil.

Nigeria U17 Head Coach Speaks On Provisional Roster, MRI, Preparations For World Cup

Nigeria U17 head coach Manu Garba has revealed that the Nigeria Football Federation will submit a 50-player provisional roster for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup on or before September 26.

The 2013 U17 World Cup-winning manager has stressed that players must pass the MRI test to be conducted in Nigeria before their names are listed on the provisional roster.

''The confidence I have is all the 21 players passed the MRI by the time we played at the last AFCON in Tanzania but teams like Cameroon, Guinea and two other countries, two or three players were removed from their team,'' Manu Garba said.

''Even from the new ones we are sending as part of the 50-man provisional list, we will make sure we do the MRI before we send that list.

''When we get to Brazil, the FIFA Medical team will do random sampling for all the teams but they may decide to do it for each and every player but we are confident that any player we are taking there must have to pass the MRI here before we even register him provisionally.''

He added : ''I am not one hundred percent satisfied with the team but I can say we are supposed to submit a list of fifty players for the provisional registration, that is why you can see we have about 55-60 players on ground.

''Out of those number, we are supposed to submit a list of fifty players on or before 26th September, then the final 21 will come out from that list ten days before the first match''.

The Golden Eaglets players and officials will be heading to Turkey to participate in the UEFA Assist Tournament this month, before their trip to Sao Paulo for the final phase of preparations.

''So far so good, we are into the second to the last phase of preparations. The final preparation will be in São Paulo before the World Cup.

''Even before then, we are supposed to go to Turkey to partake in the UEFA Assist preparatory competition, that should be from 20th-28th September,'' Garba concluded.

Nigeria will face Hungary, Ecuador and Australia in the group stage of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.

'Nigeria Will Be Able To Reproduce The Likes Of Amokachi, Kanu, Okocha' - Taribo West Salutes Golden Eaglets

Taribo West was at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja to watch the Golden Eaglets players train on Wednesday and the former Inter Milan and Auxerre star has lavished praise on the Manu Garba-led team after observing them at close quarters.

Before he became a seasoned international back in the day, West was a member of arguably the most star studded U20 team ever assembled by Nigeria, the Flying Eagles class of 1993, and won the Olympic title with the original Dream Team in 1996.

Based on what he saw during the Golden Eaglets workout, West believes that the players have the potential to step into the shoes of Nigeria legends such as Daniel Amokachi, Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu.

''I saw a very bright future generation of Nigerian players, I was very impressed. A couple of them are also in the younger age team like the U15, super players,'' said Taribo West.

''I saw fantastic players that I believe that in the future Nigeria will be able to reproduce the likes of Amokachi, Okocha and Kanu. I was very impressed.

''If they can apply the kind of display I saw here today and also listen to the instruction of their coaches, they will bring back the Cup again.''

West has stressed again and again that the physical condition of the Golden Eaglets players is top-notch.

The central defender concluded by saying, ''The team is physically fit and there is a lot of coordination within the young boys, the collectivity is outstanding so this team has future and I can bet on the team.

''Physically they are very strong, they just need some few trial matches, that is take them out to expose them and they will do the needful.''

Super Eagles Team Coordinator, Pascal : Manu Garba Needs To Be Very Careful

Former Nigeria international, Patrick Pascal says too many talented players in the current Golden Eaglets can make the job of final selection of players to represent Nigeria at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil to be difficult for Manu Garba.

The Super Eagles Team Coordinator has also assured that the 2013 U17 World Cup-winning manager is experienced enough to select the best.

''You can see the coordination in the team, the marking, the passes, the recovery is very good and the transition in the team too is good,'' Patrick Pascal said.

''I think we are getting what we want and you can see we have a lot of talented players here, the coach needs to be very careful and I know they have the experience to pick the good players.

''I tell you it is a difficult work, it is not easy to come out around 8am and then you close by around 3pm or 4pm which means the work is tedious.

''At the end of the day it is for you to pick the best and then they represent our country.''

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Chelsea wonderkid Daniel Jinadu has been included on Nigeria's provisional roster for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Golden Eaglets chief scout, Bunmi Haruna advised coach Manu Garba to include Jinadu, who is now at West Ham, on the 50-man provisional squad for the tournament in Brazil.
The 17-year-old will undergo a Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test when the players and officials return from their trip to Turkey for the UEFA Assist U17 International Tournament.
Although Jinadu was a latecomer to the team, one thing that he had going for him was his experience, having previously worn the colours of England U15 and U16 teams.
In addition, the goalkeeping department was one of the problem areas during the U17 AFCON and regional qualifiers, with the team conceding 13 goals in total.

The other foreign-based player named in the provisional squad is Bournemouth's Joseph Oluwabusola.

Shrewsbury Town first-year scholar Nigel Aris impressed coaches Manu Garba, Nduka Ugbade and Jolomi Atune but was eventually axed from the provisional squad because of the short time he spent with the team during the training camp.

Official : Huddersfield Town Confirm Nigeria Call-Up For Talented Striker



Through a statement on their official website, Championship outfit Huddersfield Town have confirmed that their promising striker Andre Edionhon has received a call-up to the Nigeria U17 National Team.
Edionhon will begin training with the Golden Eaglets squad in Turkey this week, with a view to his inclusion on the final 21-man roster for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The 2003-born player could make his maiden appearance for Nigeria at the UEFA Assist U17 International Tournament.

Arsenal goalkeeper Ovie Ejeheri has chosen to commit his international future to Nigeria, rather than Uganda and England.

The Hale End Academy product was in contention to be called up to train with the Golden Eaglets but he's currently undergoing rehabilitation from a small tear in his medial meniscus.

Speaking through his representative Segun Jegede of Utmostt Sports Management London, Ejeheri told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''I was born in Greenwich, London and I'm eligible to represent Nigeria, Uganda and England.

''I hope to play for the Nigerian National Team some day if the opportunity arises. It would be a great privilege to win international trophies with them''.

Ejeheri, who has been described as a goalkeeper with consistency in his handling and timing, has revealed that Italy great Gianluigi Buffon is his role model and spoke about Arsenal's plans for him.

''I am a good shot-stopper with a lot of confidence and I control my back line very well, I like the way Buffon plays but I wouldn't say I play like him, I am Ovie Ejeheri.

''Arsenal is a very structured club with detailed plans for each of the players in the academy system.

''I am being prepared for what will surprise a lot of people in the football industry.

''I have been at Arsenal since age five, I am happy to be part of such a big and successful club,'' he concluded.

The Golden Eaglets Coach, Manu Garba has said his team is still in the search for a good goalkeeper and a left-back ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in Brazil, Completesports.com reports.

The 53-year-old who won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013 revealed this to newsmen.

“We have a pool of good players, but we are still looking for a goalkeeper and a left-back,” Garba said.

The Golden Eaglets team finished fourth in Tanzania at the CAF U-17 Championship earlier in the year, the team is billed to depart Turkey at the weekend for an invitational tournament to prepare for the World Cup in Brazil next month.

The record 5-time Champions, Nigeria are in the Group B with Australia, Hungary, and Ecuador.
