Bro, how strong must the 2,2 be
Should it be close to 2,1 or just any 2,2 and moreso do you spend upto to #500k or close to #1m during the course of applying, flight and other logistics.

Hmmm,

It depend on number of schools you apply to and other factors.
But I think 500K MIGHT be enough for application, Visa and flight( cheap fight ooo).

But you still have to hold some cash when travelling even if you are a scholarship recipient that will be used before you start getting stipends.

Having 1 million naira is not a bad idea. You might, you might not need up to that.

Yea, I think you are right. But it is not as serious as it looks from Nigeria. May be it is because I am in an international environment however.

Also there are a lot of Nigerians in my school that it feels like home.

I have a non related question though, between China and Japan, which understand and speak English the most?
I think Japan.

Most people dont understand English here. Taxi man, Shop owners and every common person you will meet day to day dont. If you are a student, some students and staff can, but most are still not comfortable speaking it.

Only few people can. The percentage will be greater in places like Beijing, Shanghai and other international or business environment.

I heard there is a place in Guangzhou that feels like you are in Lagos.

1) How is China more developed ? Dubai had better roads, better infrastructure, better services and more modern tech with tech booths and apps providing every service you can desire. China is more powerful and more innovative but in terms of actual development of the cities, Dubai is far ahead of Beijing. If you believe I am wrong please provide some proof of why you think so.

2) it's difficult for foreigners to open a business in China and if your work is legal unless it's just another export to Africa business, you will struggle to make enough money as you will start at the bottom. In Dubai, even though you will start at the bottom you can earn more.

3) Bro have you been to either ? I've been to both and Dubai is a lot safer and cleaner (and is ranked as such by every international observer) I'm not saying China has open garbage on the roads (Not in Beijing or Shanghai) but it is a lot more polluted, the side alleys have literal faeces in them and there is a lot more crime than in Dubai (crime is reported in Chinese papers, u won't hear about it in English ones but look up crime statistics)

Let's understand this clearly ..dubai was developed as a commercial city to grow revenue hence more organized ,structured ,PR on it is well spent...

How ever. China is an industrial nation ..its built to cater to the world this where the work is done so it terms of infrastructure development ,I.t na China

Egbon,

Please how can I start?

Or what is the frist thing to do?

Use Google to search for list of schools in China that offers your course in English and have the specialization you want to study.

When you get like 3 or more of this, you can then start checking their requirements and see the ones you meet.

I think I listed it in the initial write up.

It is not a one day job though. I think that is where most of us develop cold feet to peruse several website pages of different schools.

Thanks a lot for this thread FA13. It's truly appreciated. Please I have a question concerning the boldened. I hope you can help me out when it's convenient. I saw a school on Campuschina in which the CSC scholarship is available for my interested undergraduate course in English. Could this have been an error or is it really available in just that school for English undergraduate program? Isn't the CSC eligibility uniform across schools in China? I'm really confused. Thanks in anticipation of your reply

Thanks for the compliment. However I said in the write up that usually. So if you see a course on campuschina page and it is stated that it is in English, endeavour to go to the school's website and confirm. If the same information is there, then you are good to go.

And yes, there are slight variation in various schools for the CSC scholarship. CSC provides general condition but schools still have their individual conditions/requirements.

Hello everyone,
To those who have worked with Chinese and Indians in Nigeria before, we all believe they are the worst set of people to have as boss.

Infact in one interview I went for in Nigeria, one guy on hearing that the company is managed by Indians left without even doing the interview.

I wanted to change my job so I spoke to a man. When I went back for reminder, he showed me a number on his phone that he just spoke with the person. Fortunately, he insisted I must see the call record. Then I saw something like Indian name, while on my way out I did a quick search on google....Bro. Its a confirmed Indian name. I immediately cancelled the application.
Its better not to start than enduring, beside my job is OK but time consuming.
So Indians are no no for me.

I have a friend in Japan, he said in Japan it's worse because nobody will answer you, everybody is minding their business, his neighbour is a Japanese student but they don't talk to him. Language is the greatest barrier. I will only to visit there not school or live. If it's school I may consider Canada. Germany is better but they deliberately don't speak English.

It's fine to prefer whichever you prefer but Dubai is more developed than China as a whole and even Beijing. I won't say all of UAE but Abu Dhabi and Dubai are very well developed and not even London or New York compare with them

You are funny. I now confirmed you must be a real comedian when you started comparing Dubia to New York- The big apple.

But back to the point, except you are going as tourist or for sight seeing can you be saying Dubai is better.

Anyone going for any other purpose will most likely find China better, be it business or education.

Of course Dubia has some obvious advantage over China as listed by the poster up there like the language but overall, China should be better.

China is absolutely an industrial giant and as a country it excels in a lot more areas that does the UAE. However, in sheer development that is infrastructure, quality of life, integration of technology etc Dubai is far ahead of China's major cities. Dubai has much better infrastructure with some of the world's best roads, better buildings, better tech integration and a higher standard of living.

China's economy is much more powerful but if you're talking about where you would enjoy the highest standard of living ? That's in Dubai.

Dubai is more developed than New York because New York isn't only Manhattan. That being said New York is much more alive with more to do, friendlier people, more culture and more spirit than Dubai. Dubai is a plastic city but speaking on pure development (quality of infrastructure and standard of living) Dubai is ahead of the big apple.

China is better for education no doubt but for business it depends. Assuming your business isn't just exporting stuff back home, China's economy is much larger and there is greater scope for employment and stuff but Dubai has no taxes and it's easier to start a business in Dubai than in China. Dubai also has less corruption (Although China isn't very corrupt). Where you will succeed more depends on the kind of business you're interested in. For manufacturing and exports, China is good. For services like banking, tourism, hospitality etc Dubai is good.

Guys please help me decide

I have about 600k andy plan was to go work in Dubai

Can I and should I go to china instead

I have a friend there in China he's a Nigerian

But how is life in China and I go fit see work there

BRO see the first thing about Travelling out.. Research about where you want to travel too, and know the kind of skills that are required there.. Acquire the skills here to make part time money over there so you won't be stranded when you get there. . Then go to school over there.. Even if it's just for 2 years so that you can integrate yourself into their society. Don't just go with the notion that you want to go and work.. God bless your hustle

Dubai is a city state while China is a country and also a continent on its own. Beijing alone has an economic output that is bigger than the whole of UAE. U can only compare Dubai with a district in Beijing. Saying that Dubai has better infrastructure than China is just as fallacious. Dubai can be covered in a day but u cannot cover China on a single visit. China is diverse and some places in the west are less developed than cities on the east cost. Shanghai alone is bigger in terms of economic and population than the whole of UAE.There are well over 700 important cities in China and you will have to cover those cities to really grasp the depth of China's sophistication. Another fallacious argument u made is about tech companies. China has more companies on Forbes 500 top companies than America and so many of these Chinese companies are hi-tech companies, so how come you said Dubai has more tech companies than China?I understand that Dubai is a great place, but you should also understand that UAE derives most of its revenues from oil with little or no tech innovation. On the contrary, China is an industrial superpower that manufactures almost everything. Shanghai has the world largest and longest subway system and the maglev. These are modern infrastructures by any standard.

We are practically saying the same thing except that China was build for bigger purpose and so its I.t is definitely not dubai mate neither is infrastructure ..you can compare infrastructure. If they didn't have the infrastructure to hold its massive output and population then they won't be China today

Of course China is more powerful more powerful than america its self ..the investment that China has in America can crash american economy if the pull off ..I remember when they threatened to do do..Chinese people pull ropes behind scenes .Hope you know they are the investors behind holly wood movies ?

lol Dubai has all this you said? And you even said new York And London do not compare, i’m Very sorry to ask you this sir, do you know what development means? That Dubai is a new city and has new buildings which are still developing will make you say it is more developed than China? Have you been to hangzhou of recent? China has been a developed first world country for as long as we can both remember and they continue to build till today, roads, bridges, buildings and all, of building is how u say a city is more developed then you’re probably going to to say Dubai is more developed than Tokyo... don’t even say that bro, Dubai to me is still developing
