Apart from Chong who was sloppy in possession some few times, the rest really did impress especially Gomes.

Check the kind trailer Astana parked and you will see why it was hard to break them down. We controlled the match from beginning till the end.

It was a tough night for them . I have said it before that the best thing is to introduce them one at a time and rotate their appearances until they mature better.

Three things worked against them: 1) Astana sitting deep and limiting space for most of the game 2) The incompetence of some of the more experienced players that were meant to help them 3) They (the young boys themselves) were too impatient and jittery on the night.

Having said all that it was only Chong who had a really bad game. Gomes was lively and intelligent and he showed that he at least deserves to be considered for a regular squad role at this time.

Greenwood is not really a winger and so found it difficult to get into the game but must of his control and touch was still okay, and of course he scored the all important goal.

They didn't impress as such but Astana had 11 of their players camped in their half, no space for them. Maybe if Rashford had scored atleast one of those chances they(Astana) would have been forced to come out then there might be abit more space for them.

Yea, they didn't quite impress though especially Chong, was easily dispossessed and made quite a number of sloppy passes.

Astana's deep defence system too didn't help.
