The President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government has expressed its readiness to to combat money laundering and terrorists financing in the country, Igbere TV reports. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this today in his office in Abuja when the Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Mr. Modibbo Hamman Tukur visited him. According to a statement obtained by Igbere TV, the Minister said he would continue to provide the leadership required so that the Ministry, Immigration Service and Civil Defense perform optimally to meet their obligations as members of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorism Financing. He added that if terrorism financing is arrested in Nigeria, the confidence of foreign investors would be boosted & also enhance socio-economic activities for the benefit of Nigerians.
