I am currently employed and have been in the financial sector for over 5 years now, I just got a job offer from another company in the same financial sector with a lower pay but a higher position, this new position places me in a managerial/supervisory position with less stress but lower pay/salary compared with where I am presently.

Please I need matured and analytical advice house.

Hi, so I am a professional career adviser and would say to what I would say to my students when they have this dilemma is to first make a pros and cons list of both jobs. Then elsewhere make a list of what is more important to you, money or your career development and other connections to them; things like workload, salary, yourself, promotion, career development, future, money, happiness etc. To be honest as in this context there is little information about you, it is hard to say much and besides, if i was having a session with you, I can only guide you, it is YOUR decision to decide what makes YOU happy especially in regard to your career as it is literally a vital part of our life and you don't want to make a wrong decision. ugh, there are so many careers, but I still can't decide what career to choose... I don't even know more career than accountant, taxi driver, different managers and salesman... Could you advice me some guide that will help me sort out with my decision what career to choose, because there is the abundance of careers that are useless or aren't popular...

I totally agree with you that chosing a career is one of the most important parts of our lives. My friend (I name her "Guru" told me that in this life you should answer just on 3 questions for being happy: Who you want to be, with whom and where you want to be; and if now we have a lot of specialists and sites that will help you with finding your love and migrate successfully it will be a little bit hard to find a site that will help you career. Personally, I am a librarian and I had (after I lost my job) some difficulties to find a new place of working. I asked for help from different people, but nobody helped me. When I tried to find an answer on internet, I undestood that all sites are mostly interested in promoting of different services, but not in helping people. Just after a lot of time I found what I needed. https://www.becomeopedia.com/ is a site that helped me understand whom I want to be and to find a job that would please me for 100%. Hi, I guess this is the problem with the educational system in Nigeria. like what the previous person said, there are so many careers that are available that most people do not know about and many that are going to fade away over the course of time it is called labour market information (LMI). As a career professional who studied and worked outside of Nigeria, I had never heard of my profession before and many more. In the UK and many developed countries career guidance and education is part of the educational system even for adults to help and guide. I think this should be mandatory in schools and unis to help people navigate their lives. But guess as usual this is not a priority for the educational system in Nigeria. I can also suggest a number of websites where you can have a look but they are UK ones, hopefully they help. they give breakdown information jobs but in UK. However, it will give you the information. prospects.ac.uk, national career service. i hope this helps. i will post more if i remember.

bro Good morning first my question is what is your intention and motives behind leaving your current position to another company... if its because of money(salary) then I will advice u should wait, dont leave but if you want career development and challenges that will stretch you for further development at a fast pace I would advice you opt for this new offer not minding the pay at all.. I believe there's any higher level or pay the company will consider.its staff before external staff..
