LoL. We no get option. If handled well, Gomes will be playing full matches by December or January. Greenwood too.

We just need to ease them in.

I like the sound of this if OGS will follow that path. Time will reveal all. We wait and see how everything goes.

Going forward, our midfield 3 should be Fred, Pogba, Tominay. Ole should ditch the idea of playing with a 10 for now, we don't have one, Gomes can't play full matches yet.
Chong will come good, but he needs to go out on loan once or twice in order to get regular game time and develop confidence. What he lacks is confidence.
Greenwood needs to be near the box always.
Tuanzebe needs more game time, Ole should try 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 sometimes.
Fred? I won't say much until I see his performance against a team that presses.
Sadly, Rashford can't be dropped cause we're short of options.

We MUST beat West Ham on Sunday.

I agree with 4-3-3.

I’m not sure whether we have tried out 3-4-3 before or 3-5-2 so I will prefer we go with 4-3-3.

One major reason why our midfield is being overrun is because we are thin in the midfield, almost all match day it is 3 or 4 midfielders against our own 2.

Going forward, McTom, Fred and Pogba must man that midfield, let them play consistently and see what they can do, we can just keep shuffling the midfield and expect cohesion between them.

I just de pity you, put pogba kante and de bruyne for that midfield with OGS as their gaffer and see people start complaining that de bruyne's passing is off bcuz of the sun affecting his eye unto albino things.

Our tactics is garbage. I don't see any difference in our attacking play compared to José's last season and dis OGS united.

Yeah. But Ole needs to find answers to unlocking defenses. So far the players are not stepping up.

We’ve won 2 league games this season- by sitting back and surrendering the ball to the opponent.

Whenever we take the game by the horns we either draw or lose- our best performance so far this season was against Wolves. It’s a shame we didn’t win that game.

Last night’s match against Astana was the only game we dominated and won, but they’re not rated as high as EPL clubs.

OGS needs to find a way to win matches that way- it seems it’s his preferred way. Only City is skilled at breaking teams down and to a measurable extent, Liverpool.

I think 4-3-3 will do us a lot of good- it was the formation that brought us multiple wins when OGS first came in. I just don’t think we have enough quality midfielders.

But I still think we can play 4-2-3-1 and not be overrun in midfield. The problem we have is that our wingers don’t convert to RM and LM when we lose the ball. If they can mark well, block Ossining lanes and cover enough ground, I don’t think we’ll ever be overrun in midfield again.

people were actually laughing at jose for trying to get a CB last season and were praising Woodward for not supporting him,

Saying that a CB will not score goals for us or improve our attacking play, fast forward OGS sell our most prolific scorer and didn't replace him then bought two defenders now we're struggling to score against the Astana's and Crystal palace of dis world

Well I have being complaining about OGS tactics since last season. I have accepted he’s a counter attacking coach and as long as he’s here, the best thing to do is see how we can succeed with his style. If results are not favorable, he will get the sack sooner rather than later.

The problem is Ole style needs space in between the opposition defense to thrive. His game plan is based on fast counter attacking system so whenever a team sit back, we have problem breaking them down.

It’s shamful that apart from the Chelsea game, we have not scored more than 1 goal per game. Our players positioning especially midfield and attack is suspect. Most times you see our players staying static as if they are programmed not to make runs.

Ole needs to work on the team positioning and transitioning from defense to attack. Slow build up play and senseless sideway passes will hurt us more than the opponent. It is our own players that wait for opponent defense to regroup before attacking.

Ole must look into his system and adjust/change as I believe the system must be flexible enough to effect change.

Yeah, but that’s not the whole truth.

Fact is OLE’s got tactics that’ll bring goals via counter attacks- any good manager would- and it’s the major wya we’ve scored goals under him BUT it’s not true that that’s his preferred way to play.

Our last preseason and the first few games in this season confirms this.

Against top opponents or teams perceived to be fitter and better with the ball, he submits possession - Chelsea and Leicester. Against lesser opponents he played attacking football. It’s just a shame that we don’t have players who can make things happen- yet.

Since SAF left we’ve never had a coach who wanted to play attacking football, save maybe LvG. Mourinho didn’t really want to dominate and win games and Moyes is just meh.

These players are lazy at keeping possession and would prefer their opponent have it, esp. the attackers. They don’t understand yet the importance of quick passes, creating spaces with their movements and running into them to receive the ball.

I can’t reqlly blame them. They’ve been playing like this for the last 3 years or thereabout. See how Rashford evolved- from potential deadly attacker to matchday curse recipient.

I repeat- that Wolves game was our best performance this season. It’s just sad that we didn’t claim all available points.

I’ll let OGS get down to work and get the team working again. It won’t be pretty and we’ll get unexpected results, and even if he gets sacked I hope he’d have built a solid enough foundation for the next guy to build on.

The players Mourinho bought for Man Utd, how many of them are still useful to the first team and performing to expected level now. He joined in 2016, this is 2019, how many of those he bought are still useful to the team 3yrs later

I am not praising jose or defending him, what I'm trying to say is that when jose asked for a defender most of the fans didn't agree with him, myself included bcuz it's quite glaring that our attacking play was quite poor and a defender won't solve that, only for the next manager to do what jose did and the fans are acting like all is well.

@ bolded - Then why did we sack Mou then since he play this particular style.?

We have scored 70% of our goals under Ole through counter attacking yet you still don’t think that’s his preferred style of play.

Bottom half or mid table team are likely to sit deep and cede possession to us, what happens when they do that? We become clueless on what to do with the ball. We even begin to cross the ball when we have Rashford or Martial or James as our CF.

Look at Leicester pre Rodgers and now during Rodgers reign and see the stark difference in the way they play. Most of our goals under Ole has been through counter attacking, when our opponent sit deep, we find it hard to score because there’s no other alternative. If this is not a pointer to the way he set up his team, I don’t know what is.

Time will prove either of us right or wrong.

The simple question they asked Mourinho was that he should point to the success story among the transfers under him
He bought Fred and he didnt even use him.

He bought Lindelof and Bailly as central defenders yet wanted another one.

United fans: OGS plays counter style, that's why the team can't score against teams that sit back
Still United fans: Rashford is just throwing away goal-scoring opportunities
Facts: United has scored just one of 8 goals from counter attack.

It's just like that Martial's goal against Wolves, no way Rashford will score that, i'm 100% sure. Rashford's type of goals are the ones were he outruns the defenders and miraculously slots it in. That's his specialty, outpace defenders and miraculously score.
