I would tell you something i never understood till I grew older before i send you to attend Ubunja’s pre-school.

She was jovial and usually gives us gists whenever we cooling off at night (tales by moonlight, only that we were sitting down in a/c). One-day she let it spill, how my uncle disturbed her for marriage, went to her sisters, her parents and begged and begged until she finally gave way. I didn’t still understand her lukewarmness but i kept the story to heart. This is a very reasonable lady in every respect but a magic ingredient was missing from the marriage. From their conversations alone you would know what it is, both are together cause their parents are very respectable people and won’t hear anything along the line of divorce. This is a family where money is not an object, imagine what it would be if something unfortunate (life) happens to their wealth.

I can't argue with you on this. NNPC don't have to. Some people had to choose between traveling abroad in September 2019 or staying back for NNPC but many of them have no further choice. Those perhaps are good candidates NNPC selected.

Only the unwise ones would stay back because it can happen NNPC doesnt call them. Imagine similar scenerios should it take very long.

I applied for the first time 2014. I was successful and told I would be called for interview and never heard back.

I agree that 2012 and 2014 were different recruitment.

I think there is a misconception about the previous recruitments handled by the corporation.
Let me highlight what we are missing.
1. There was an advert for positions into the corporation in year 2010, the processes from advertisement, processing, sorting, invitation for tests, sorting, interviews and eventual resumption was from say Q2 2010- Aug/Sept 2012 when they resumed.

2. Around ending of 2012, another recruitment was advertised and applications were sent in. I remember by 2013 Nov, I received an email to update my user name and login details for the recruitment. By Dec 2014 aptitude test was conducted across the country and by Jan of 2015, successful SMS and invitation for interview was sent out to candidates informing them of plans for interview in Feb 2014.

This period was characterised be election preparation and Philips consulting was the firm handling the process then. They sent another message days later about plans for logistics andother issues and apologise for the delays and that was the last communication. After that period was the election that ushered in Buhari, the process was silently cancelled and we are here again.

The dates stated may not be exact but the processes are events turned out as described. If you have a different experience from above, may be we are talking about a different process.

Been following this thread since page 1, and must admit refusing to comment has been one of the hardest decisions, especially in the midst of all the theories and controversial posts.

I have to give kudos to everyone here, no matter what happens, you have all made this a fun, educational period in the lives of many who have been impacted by this thread.

I am not sounding pessimistic or negative when I say that game of thrones doesn't come close to the intrigues in every government recruitment in this country. It's all one big freaking game.

With the way we are going the word "Merit" will become associated with mad people in the time of our kids.
