At Akpatu, the good guys have turned bad. Pious is now the Carlos of old,everybody trying to get revenge on him. Kess on the other hand is another philip. The police conspiring with royalty. Maybe chief Justin would be become another Ferico.

A muscle twitched involuntarily at the corner of Francis right eye, his mouth formed a rigid grimace. With a hand barely lifting the big bag of mental tools, he stepped into the threshold of the palace court and all the while staring at the ancient designs of the wall. The fitfully sunny morning would either see the dawn of his new life with Katherine or snap his dreams in two......
The palace was quite different from anything he has ever seen before, though old, it's wall were white stones and it's roof was somehow pointed giving it the look of eccentric crown.., he guess the palace was as big as twenty of the ordinary houses of the town....

Cold sweat glistened on his brow as he look around to see if there was any sign of her.., but she wasn't anywhere in sight and he wonder if she was really in the capital..
He sigh as he thought she could be lock up somewhere, whatever may be the case, he is here now and he won't leave without her....

"Your majesty... "The huge man they've been running errands for greeted...

Francis finally dropped the heavy bag and reach his hand up to the swelling on his neck, he really felt there was no need kneeling down and bowing their faces on the ground but he had no choice but to do it, from the way the one with the crown on his head and the rest at his side were staring at them, anyone in his right senses could tell they are non-hearers of old chestnuts.., besides this was the capital and from what he has learnt, the king of the other villages pay homage to the lord of the capital....

He felt his insides grow warm in an unpleasant way and his stomach, though empty, writhed as if struggling with a rich meal...., he weave his fingers in and out of each other as he waited with the rest of the group for the king to give them an order to get up.....

"Rise... "Lord Kubali said..

With a deep drag, Francis stood up so did the rest of them, he smirk when he caught Zed and Levi gaze, he saw Levi eyes roaming around and he quickly guess he could be searching for Pandora just as he was searching for the other part of his heart... Katherine..

"Great warriors.. "Lord Kubali said... "You've come a long way to participate in the blood tournament, but you must know this, once you are in, there is no bailing out.., it's a fight to the death, if you have what it takes to be the winner of the blood tournament, then follow the guards, they will take you to the quarter you'll be staying, there you'll meet other warriors who has also come to win the grand prizes of the blood tournament... "

Eyes still roaming around, Francis followed the rest of the warriors as the king guards led them out of the court...

She waited patiently for someone to answer, when no answer came, she pressed the doorbell again...
The door open a minute and a lady probably in her early thirties poke her head on the door post...

When the woman raise her brow, it occur to her she shouldn't have stopped there...
"I was given your address by a nurse from the hospital, you have someone i want... "

The woman shift from the door post and close the door behind her.... "Who are you.?

Bianca grunted... "I just told you my name.. "

"What do you want that you think i have..? She asked brusquely

"A month ago, a little boy was admitted in the hospital you worked, his name is Gerald, am his guardian.. "

She wonder what the lady was thinking when she didn't give a reply to her statement, she expected something positive but what came out of her mouth was infuriating...

"I don't know what you're talking about.. "

Bianca huffs.... "Look, you know fully well what am talking about, i was in a car accident that almost took my life, i lost him in that accident.. "

"Accident....! The lady fling back... "He was seen lying helplessly on the expressway... "

"Look, we were in the car together and were driving towards the city, and then we were attacked, i lost conciousness, when i recover, i tried searching for him, until now.. "

"So you just expect me to give him back to you, just like that.. "

"I promise his mother i will care for him and am not going back on my word, am the only family he has... "

The door knob turn and the door slightly open, Bianca heart raced when she saw him, poor boy, he was leaner and his eyes has sulken inside...

If Zed could have opened his mouth any wider he would have eaten the plate of food in one bite. As it was he dug into the rich food with ravenous hunger. Then he crunched it up with his mouth opening every time he chewed, treating the rest of them to a view of the partially masticated food. Then he gulped it down and without pausing to breathe he took another swinging shove in of the food..

Francis shook his head, though he was hungry but he was more concern with saving Katherine..., he drew closer to Zed and Levi...
"Do you think they locked her up..? He whisper..

showing no signs of embarrassment Zed wiped his mouth on his sleeve and belched....

"Must you do that..? Levi deadpan irritated

"Do what...? Zed fling back without need for apology...

"Belched.. "

"What's wrong with belching..? He ask akwardly

When Levi turn away, Francis realise he was even more irritated than he was....
"I have to find her before the tournament begins.. "

"Do you know where she is...? Zed asked, his eyes fixed on the plate of food, mouth ready and willing to stuff more in....

"I don't but i need to find out.. "

"Do you think Pandora will be with her..? Levi chimes in..

"I don't know Levi, but we'll never know if we don't find them.. "

"Finding them is why we're here.. "Levi strike a quick reminder... "And we need to do that fast and get out of here.. "

"Slow down guys.... "Zed interjects... "We can't find them now, we need to wait till the competition begins, when everyone is busy watching the heads of people been cut off, we will be busy finding them, that way, it will be easy.. "

Francis huffs, Zed definitely have a point but he just can't wait, every moment that passes, he thinks she's in danger...

"We will find them.... "Zed added.. "You need not worry.. "

"Philip is tough i know, but walking into a crowded place to carry out an assassination, i don't think it's a wise move.., and from what i learnt, the funeral was suppose to hold next week but Pious suddenly change his mind and decide to make it happen tomorrow..., the question you should be asking chief is why he did that, what's his motive..? "

"What do you think his motive is...?"

"I think it's a trap chief, probably to catch Dillan, and the Dillan i know will stupidly fall into it, if Jacob and Philip go there with the aim you've given them, i fear the brewing storm will take them too, and that might just blow your cover and if that happens, it will just be like Carlos and Pious once again, Pious understand the rules and he knows there is only one winner at the end of the game..., and in this ruthless game of throne chief, you don't backout, you either win or you die winning, loosing is not an option..., when you die, you're out.. "

Amazed, he smile... "I can't call them off, the coronation will take place the day after the funeral, the palace is completed.., Pious cannot ascend the throne, he needs to die.. and he need to die tomorrow.. "

"Then tell them to thread with caution..., because it won't be a funeral they will be attending, it's a maze laced with traps, one mistake and it will be their blood on Edna's grave... "
