We just like to sensationalize things here. I even thought the charge applied to all the deposits. Even mechanics and petty traders have bank accounts. Why should anyone be carry cash above 500k

The option is for you not to withdraw cash, transfer the amount to the recipient via bank . You should also pressure your customers to pay direct to your account so as to avoid you from going to bank to make huge deposits which attracts the 2,3 percent charges

What I do It understand is why they selected some states for this practices . The idea would encourage people to travel to another state to make deposit .imagine a business man loosing 2 percent of 500k, what's his profit shocked

using Southerners to play ludo, my question is why exclude Kaduna state that receives more allocation from the cashless policy but included Abia, Ogun and Anambra State, are you saying that a policy that is good for Abia state is not good for Kaduna state? northerners voted in this government so they should also pay tax introduced by this government , when you to share benefits you start from the north

I think what they are saying is for you to avoid the charges simply do not use cash deposits but receive your money by transfers. If you are withdrawing also do so via transfers and non cash methods

That said the banks should know that there are thousands of illiterate Nigerians who would not know how to use these methods. Or doing so may compromise the safety of their money. We have heard cases of others illegally hacking into peoples bank account and making away with their cash

Before we start penalizing cash transactions especially for illiterate traders, we need to first ensure safety and integrity of our online and electronic payment options

This is stupid from emefile, who then is the fool that would opt for percent deduction when its optional.

This is one of their one chance move which they introduce and it starts affecting everyone including those they claim it won't affect at first

I'm highly disappointed in Buhari's administration! I expected more from him but he turned out to be a failure. I believe he knows in and out of the government because he once served as an Head of state. Though it's not easy to fix Nigeria problem but at least we should see his effort and not make life so difficult for everyone.

My people have a saying and I quote; “no matter how blunt a cutlass is, it should never be given to a mad man!”.
With this one point of mine, I believe it is now audible to the deaf and visible to the blind why a waec certificateless dullard should never again be allowed to make sensitive appointments (nay not even kitchen staff appointments) in this country of ours! Ka Chineke m’eziokwu - may our Heavenly Father expose the frauds grin

Are you a Nigerian at all? Do you not know that some people store money in GeePee tanks, bunkers and soakaways in their houses? Or have you forgotten that someone ordered bullion vans to his house? And Gandollar uses his agbada as bullion van?

Optional in the sense that if you want to pay that 2percent then collect cash worth the value of 500,000 from your customer and then send your sales girl to the bank to pay in but if you dont want to pay tell your customer to transfer direct into your account direct

Now let me help you out!

You want to pay direct labourers at your site, these labourers are so poor that, they can haldly operate an account. They demand you pay them their 2,500 naira in cash so they can buy 2 tins of rice, pepper and oil for their hungry family... Would you not rather withdraw the money and pay them so that they can work for you the next day?
