Ondo Police Speaks On Death Of Over Thirty Cows by State001: 3:48am On Sep 23, 2019
The Ondo State Police Command has described the 'sudden death' of over thirty cattle in the state as "natural disaster".

The police also debunked reports making the rounds that they may have been poisoned by rural farmers.

A strange thunder caused apprehension at Ijare community in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state after striking the cows to death.

Some herdsmen were said to have climbed to the top of Oke-Owa hill in the community to graze their cows when lightning struck the herds to death.

The hill, according to reports, is a sacred place where the king of the community performs some rituals annually.

An online newspaper quoted sources in the community as saying the incident was the wrath of their gods on the herdsmen.

The source quoted the sources as saying that the gods were angry because herdsmen desecrated the sacred land.

The herdsmen were said to have been warned against grazing on the sacred mountain by the community’s chiefs, but that they were adamant.

Reacting, High Chief Wemimo Olaniran, the Sapetu of Ijare kingdom, said the incident was not strange to the community.

Olaniran said similar events had happened to people who desecrated the sacred mountain in the past.

But the spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Femi Joseph, in a short text message, described the incident as a natural disaster.

watch....Akeredolu go compensate those fulani now. They have taken over his state and made him look helpless. Ordinary miyetti allah, a trade union, and not the governor, dictates how fulani will be treated in that state.....

And the thunder had to spare the herders I know Fulani's very well they will quietly pack their things and leave, but they will surely come back for a visit,it may take several years but they will be back when everyone must have forgotten, and then when they strike you will be wandering what happened? Fulani's are deadly and should be contained not left to be wandering about.there is no way they wouldn't believe their cows were poisoned, they will perform their own autopsy

anyhow you view it, south east approach is the best. ' Fulanis, go back to your land and transport your cows via road transportation and not by Waka waka'. simple and straight to the point. In this way, everyone will be happy.
lastly, the only problem I will have with this thunder is when Fulanis will come for reprisal attack and it fails to strike them dead

sad As a born again Christian who is meant to speak the truth at all times, i pray God gives the Fulanis the fortitude to bear the loss of their precious cattles. The ondo state government should as a matter of fact arrange for compensations so as to cushion the effects of the losses of the Fulani herders. Instead of taunting the Fulanis and rejoicing over the deaths of their cows, we Christians should rather support RUGA settlements for cattle herders all over the country just like our Muslim brothers are doing so at to settle them and avoid this kind of losses in future. We Christians should learn about tolerance from our Muslim counterparts sad

What a loss!

My heart goes to the owner whose investment has taken such force majeure hit.

The average value of a standard sized cow is N100k to N150k. Loosing 36 cows at once is therefore a loss of between N3.6M to N5.4M!

This is a lot considering that most Nigerians don't have such value of assets.

These herdsmen dared the wrath of the gods and were shown that the child asking for blood will not accept palm oil.

Naturally in the Fulani Republic of Naijeriya, FRN where land for cows are more valued than human lives.
