There was even change either early this year or last year; first page number of any thread starting from 1, instead of previous 0.

That's one too na change? grin

The funny thing is that this thread was almost dead and the guy Naijatruth2019, just woke it up with his APL story. grin, grin, I salute the guy sha, I think he observed the dull pattern of the thread these days and decided to re-energize it by creating another moniker and coming up with his blazing story. grin

The only problem I have with Naijatruth2019 moniker is the calling of the name of Jesus into the APL joke..

He should not be calling the name of God in vain..

Calling the name of Jesus in vain? I am not doing so. I respect God and I glorify the name of my precious Jesus Christ.

Expect APL to drop soon...

The failure of many "sources", "sauces", dates, times have made applicants lose faith...

But have this truth: APL is dropping soon, on or before 4 October, 2019.

The pressure will soon end..

Have a lovely and beautiful night.

Lol, just go and sleep. It's only in your dream that you can see the APL on or before October 4th.

When exactly then does one cross the line to become proud or could it be that the word doesnt exist or Could it be a creation of african mentality? could the very civilised white be proud?
What exactly is the context of being proud? Just needed clarity.

You can actually be a proud father, if your child is doing well academically for instance. So "being proud" should not always be seen in the negative light.

However, if we should dwell on the negative as your question indicates, another word for it would be "arrogance"

Someone or someone's comment can come across as being 'arrogant' based on two factors -

1. Perspective/orientation

2. Level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

1. Perspective

A child who says "what's up dad" as a form of greeting to his dad in America (very normal to an average American) will otherwise be considered to be a proud/arrogant/not humble child by an average Nigerian who sees him doing that to his dad here. It is simply a matter of perspective or orientation (why do you think some people almost kneel down when talking to elders on the phone?)

Another instance was when @mosgoon affirmed that the same comments for which he was being vilified here on NL were considered to be normal on reddit as no one even raised an eyebrow there, which brings me to point number 2.

2 . EQ on the part of the commenter
This should prompt the commenter to conduct an informal audience profiling to know which communication style to adopt otherwise he/she will come across as someone who is seeking unnecessary attention and in some cases deemed to be proud or not humble. Emotional Intelligence is key to avoid unnecessary backlash for an otherwise "innocent" statement.

Furthermore, the EQ of the audience also plays a crucial role in determining whether someone or a comment would be adjudged "proud". Some audience may see a comment, pick the relevant info and ignore the rest of the noise while the other set of audience will dwell on the "McKinsey" part that was mentioned and start vibrating.

In summary, being adjudged to be proud is a matter of perspective/orientation, and the emotional intelligence of the commenter and/or the audience. There is no hard and fast rule.

Mehn! This is extensive, thanks so much brother. Seen it from another perspective, A question wasn't answered pls, could the whites (nothern americans for instance) ever perceive someone to be proud? (In the negative) Thanks.

Lol, up to this moment, Jarus has been tested and confirmed to be a "good source", perhaps you don't know, it was only Jarus that told us the week interview invite will roll out on this thread, as against other "burnt sauces" that were speculating that the change of GMD at that time will/has delayed/postponed the interview further. And Lo and Behold! Jarus "prophecy" came to pass. Again, you may have forgotten the C12112 antecedent here, but EMS should still be fresh in your memory. Now comparing what has been proven to be true and lies accordingly, to the above proverb, is the perfect definition of absurdity, because the actual nipple in the mouth is what has been proven to be true before, not just some random "misinformation" that have been proven otherwise.
