Ghana former president educate Donald trump.... ( pres John mahama) "The future belongs to Patriots, not to globalists". - President of the USA, Donald Trump I listened closely to the US President's address at the 74th UN General Assembly. The above in quotes caught my attention. It obviously spells out, clearly, President Trump's world view. He believes that the world's future belongs to people who are patriotic to their nations rather than those who think globally and uphold a multilateral world order. Patriotism refers to love of country and putting loyalty to national interests above all else. Globalism is the notion of having a common global village in which decisions are made multilaterally through collaboration of nations, great and small. I am sure that one can be both a patriot and a globalist, and I dont believe the two concepts are exclusionary. I love my country, but my country would not exist without our planet, our globe. While we pursue our national interest, we must also subsume our national interest to global coexistence, peace, security and environmental sustainability. Without global cooperation, there would have been no Climate Change Agreement. Without global cooperation there would have been no MDGs. Without globalism, there would be no Sustainable Development Goals. Without global cooperation there would be no Nuclear non-proliferation treaty and many more. The Nazis could be said to be patriotic based on their warped view of national interest at the time. The Khmer Rouge were patriots based on their blood-thirsty definition of Cambodia's national interest. Apartheid South Africa was the definition of patriotism for those who believed the national interest was served by a race segregated society. If every country puts its defined national interest above all else, what a chaotic world order we would have. It is love of country and unbridled patriotism that led us to two world wars. The multilateral global world order has maintained a relatively peaceful world for more than 70 years now. In any case the platform on which the Trumpian doctrine of patriotism over globalism was delivered yesterday, was a global one, and is one created by the world's greatest global institution, the UN. Since the closure of the Kara bridge that leads to the ever-busy of Lagos-Ibadan Express road, little has been heard or seen about the progress of the road especially those who ply the road regularly have no clue. According to reports, the construction of U-Drains and Earthworks are currently ongoing at the Km 5 of the Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. This is part of its rehabilitation, reconstruction and expansion of the road. The construction was being handled by Julius Berger Nig PLC and it is expected to be completed before December. It will be recalled that On September 2, 2019, the partial closure of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway commenced. The closure became necessary in order for construction work to be carried out in some sections of the expressway. The construction work would include the expansion of the expressway, construction of underpasses, footbridges, flyovers, toll plazas, etc. According to the Federal Ministry of Works, the reconstruction becomes necessary so that the road will be free before Christmas and New Year. These are photos of the construction of the Kara Bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway as obtained by AutoReportNG Thank you AutoReportNG for this news! 4 Likes 1 Share

AskiaHarem:You have a very warped idea of thinking. if there is any nation that seems fragile ( definitely not Ghana) What Ghana did was exceptionally brilliant and commendable. she just again increase her confidence in minds of citizens and investors that she is capable of securing herself and protect her inhabitant. A fragile state is state that consider critique to the presidency a crime( freedom of speech) or holding a religious leader in detention despite court order ( lack of rule of law and nonchalant attitude to human right). we all know which country is this ..... i don't need to write names..... 1 Like |

Finally, we can say all that begins well, ends well. We can finally say that work done on the Lagos-Ibadan Railway has reached 70% completion as the minister of transportation alongside some members from the national assembly and some members of the Nigeria Railway Corporation today inspected and test-run the coaches from Lagos to Abeokuta station. According to the minister of transportation, the Lagos-Ibadan Railway will start operation soon. These are some of the pictures as they test-run the coaches and not only that, the minister personally took it upon himself to check and see the rails personally. https://www.autoreportng.com/2019/02/at-last-lagos-ibadan-railway-comes.html 3 Likes 1 Share

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun commissioned 100 patio vans and 200 motorcycles to strengthen internal security in the State. The Governor who applauded the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for his swiftness at ensuring that normalcy was restored back to the state when kidnappers struck in the state between the 23rd and 24th of July and the 1st of August said that the state would henceforth continue to have a zero tolerance for criminality, cultism, kidnappings and other unwholesome attitudes in the state. Prince Abiodun made this known at the presentation of one hundred vehicles and two hundred motorbikes at the arcade ground of the governors office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said that the helicopter that was released for surveillance on the instance of the president helped the state in curbing the issue. The governor affirmed that no part of the State would be a safe haven for criminals and criminality in whatever form, adding that with the reconstituted security trust fund which had being moribund, his administration amended the law setting it up, with a view that the reconstituted security trust fund won't have governance issues, as it had in the past. " We reconstituted our security trust fund which had being being moribund, we amended the law setting it up so that we can have in the fund people who can make it successful and also ensure that it has the right governance, so that it can be autonomous and independent," he said. In his response, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu noted that he came to sensitize and encourage men of the force in the state to continue to add more value to issues of security, saying that the federal government was doing a lot in terms of equipping the Nigerian Police. I'mHe said that the federal government having noticed that the force was lacking behind in terms of weapons and other equipments, had embarked on the purchase of equipments, which he said would help the men discharge their duties properly. Adamu also added that the Nigeria Police would be introducing a community Policing across the country, adding that, when the time for recruitment comes, he would come and ask the state government for assistance in the area of recruiting best hands. He also disclosed that the Nigeria Police would be leaving behind a special task force to be headed by Fimihan Adeoye, a former commissioner of police in Osun state to help the state in bringing an end to criminal activities.
