I have received many requests by farmers seeking were or how to buy driptapes,it's very funny how can a blind man lead somebody,we are looking for a 1000m driptapes ourselves and that no2 question is very relevant,the dry season is coming and definitely the rain will stop by October,so if anybody has any info on how to help it will be appreciated by many,I intend going to onitsha to look for a 1000m 30cm spacing drip,it must be available there,the prices I am getting from the few dealers on NL is too much.

we used the hole system below on our okra farm it makes application of manure/fertilizer easy, irrigation is also efficient you can use hose and pump and water into individual holes it will retain a good quantities of water and be sipping down into the soil,if you try all these things on a flat ridge without hole you will understand what I mean,but the spacing below is for okra,if for cucumbers use appropriate spacing for cukes

do not underestimate the power and will of a worker drilled from childhood on manual labour,that okra hole is dug at #2 naira per hole and the cucumber hole is #5 naira/hole, digging holes is small job,my contractor Emma from abakiliki can ridge 4 plots in 3 days and dig 1000 holes in a day,even me on a good day can dig 400 holes,it is those that have not experienced it can tell the limit of human endurance.

I don't know what to call this,our okra plants are fruiting without flowering,fruits are everywhere with not even one flower in sight,I know some okra varieties can self pollinate like pepper,but having fruits develop straight without any sign of flowers,I will not deny this is my first time of seeing such,and if it continues like I suspect it will then the nihort NH-Ae47 variety is really full of surprises.

it's a very beautiful sight of a flowering okra farm,I forgot to take pics during the day

I have read with amusement some posts by farmers that view those using hoe and Cutlass as stupid fools living in the dark ages,but what they don't understand is the reality on the ground,for example in the East ,land tenure system has fragmented lands that it will be plain silly to call a tractor to work 2-4 plots for you,you will also be lucky if you can find a tractor, Even in our LGA there's no functional tractor,then how do you clear bush,by application of herbicides? using brush cutters? or maybe that small motorized weeding machine?,the end justifies the means,if the advanced farmer pays bulldozer/tractor #100,000k to work on 4 plots and I pay Emma #10,000k to do same work,why would I pay extra for what I know there are hungry people that will do same job for less,most of Africa's problems need African solutions,at the end of the season the question is what quantities of farm produce did you harvest not how many tractors,greenhouse,drip irrigation or raingun you have installed in your farm,the northern farmers are using cheap labour and basic furrow irrigation to produce 80-90% of what is consumed in Nigeria,yet one E-farmer will jump up and say hoe and Cutlass is obsolete while he can't even produce the weekly demand of one market woman,if you use laser beam and drone irrigation in your farm leave others that use Cutlass/hoe and bucket to irrigate their farm,after all it will always have one single purpose crop production.

What crops are ideal for dry season farming on two plots. Water source has been taken care of via a deep well.

we soaked in water by 3pm,but by 7am next morning the roots has all shot out in the water,it was amazing how fast it breaks dormancy,the guys at nihort says the variety matures in 45 days,hmm!,I reserve my comments till then,next site to be planted next week will be hybrid kirikou f1,it's hard to find now but we will get it.pls keep that yellen variety for us I beg,I will pay for waybill to onitsha,I beg.

15:15:15 has N:K - the three elements Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium have the same percentage i.e all the nutrients are balance

20:10:10 - in this type of fertilizer, Nitrogen is higher than the other major elements; potassium and phosphorus

Both can be used for similar purpose depending on the nutritional need of your crop.

Another balanced NPK is 20:20:20 but mostly used as a foliar spray

12:12:17 - had a higher percentage of potassium, very ideal for flowering stage of a crop

my brother if it's not wacott bounty I will use chicken fertilizer instead,all those golden this,solar that,I have credible information from a snitch that the fertilizer marketers has a machine that moulds soil into pellets and they bag it,if it is not wacott that will have equal percentage of brown,red and white granules I am not interested.

waybill,me step out of my comfort zone for #2000k okra na lie,I can't travel because of agric input I will send money if u like chop it.nigeria is dangerous grounds this days be careful who you going to meet,human parts are now been sold like Keke parts.

the weeds are not much now,but will contract two specialist women weeders to weed the farm next week@₦1300 per worker

today was a very hilarious day,I got a call from my Catholic priest friend that has massive earth fish ponds along the aghjo river that something big is dragging their net in one of the ponds,I went with my workers and several heartless hunters I know that will not flinch from any creature,we reached and tied the net to back of a Tacoma truck and dragged it out,lo and behold a big aggressive crocodile rush out and lashed out at anything in sight,my brother see as everybody run pass usaln bolt,even hunters,priest,etc,jump inside pickup back.pls any animal rights activists should know that when a vicious animal crosses from it's natural habitat and start destroying farms and attacking people that animal belongs to the pepper soup pot.
