We had Tobias Okiki Lawal, a top quality goalkeeper in Austria's second division and a former Austra U20 shotstopper, yet Rohr went for a German nonleague player Maduka, just bkus he was born in Germany |

Akpeyi ‘respectfully’ steps down as Kaizer Chiefs first choice for Itumeleng Khune Daniel Akpeyi lost his place as Kaizer Chiefs first choice goalkeeper with the return of Itumeleng Khune, following the latter’s return from a six-month long injury spell. Khune was between the sticks for Amakhosi in a PSL game on Tuesday, as they shutout AmaZulu in a 2-0 win at the Zwelithini Stadium, and Head Coach Ernst Middendorp hailed his Nigerian goalie for respectfully stepping down from his first choice duties. “Daniel Akpeyi played a fantastic five games so far, it was a bit tough for me but the truth is from 2006/07 Itumeleng Khune has been in the team, he’s the captain and it was the right time for him to return,” the German said, per Nkululeko Dladla [Kick off]. ‘We saw him through preparations on how far he is, had a long chat with Akpeyi as he had a fantastic start, it was tough but he understood it and showed a lot of respect about it.” Akpeyi, 33, joined Kaizer Chiefs mid way through the last season and his way back to the side’s starting XI is uncertain. |

Insulting a man old enough to be your grandfather over nothing only reveals how intellectually and morally disordered you are, Mr. If a 'drunkard' is the one correcting you in this manner then you need to think about your life. French agent Cedric Mazet who handles the affairs of Slavia Prague striker Peter Olayinka, has explained the reason behind Gernot Rohr's decision to hand a maiden call-up to his client. Slavia's Champions League clash at Inter Milan on Tuesday, September 17 was Olayinka's 23rd game in Europe and Mazet believes the Super Eagles coaches must have been following his progress. It appears the striker's performance against the Nerazzurri in which he netted on his Champions League group stage debut was too good to ignore. ''Olayinka was considered this time because he played in the Champions League after his very good performances in the Europa League last season, '' said Mazet to allnigeriasoccer.com. ''Coaches like him a lot as he is a hard worker, always working hard for the team, runs a lot and has good finishing. ''Like every good player with good performances, he knew the Super Eagles coaches have been following him.'' In twelve outings across all competitions this season for Slavia Prague, Olayinka has found the net on four occasions, logging 707 minutes for the first team |

charlesemeka85: The part about him not living up to expectations is true.. he has just 9 goals and 6 assists since he joined.. but the part about him being a part time player is false. he has played 50 games since he joined last year. Its just Nigerian journalists doing what they do best... 3 Likes |
